Monk
Base Class: Monk

Given power by a divine deity.

Holy Magic

Beginning at 3rd level you gain access to the following Devotion spells at the designated levels.

To cast one of these spells, you must expend a number of Ki Points equal to the spell’s level. Furthermore, you can expend additional Ki Points to cast the desired spell at higher levels. (Guiding Bolt cast at 4th level spell would require 4 Ki Points.)

3rd Level

Cantrips 0: Thaumaturgy, Light, Spare the dying.

Spell Level 1: Cure wounds, Divine favour, Guiding bolt, Shield of faith.

6th Level

Spell Level 2: Misty Step, Prayer of healing, Enhance ability.

9th Level

Spell Level 3: Dispell magic, Mass healing word, Revivify, Beacon of hope, Tongues, Remove curse, Daylight.

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your Devotion spells. The power of your spells comes from your devotion to your deity. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a Devotion spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Ritual Casting

You can cast a Devotion spell as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag and you have the spell prepared.

Spellcasting Focus

You can use a holy symbol or your arms/legs as a spellcasting focus for your Devotion spells.

Armoured Crusader

As an Action you can expend 2 Ki Points to summon and dawn magical Holy Armour. The Armour remains fastened to you for 1 hour and cannot be removed against your will, you have proficiency with it and it has no effect on your "Martial arts" class feature. The Armour vanishes either after 1 hour passes, if you fall unconscious or if you choose to use a Bonus action to dismiss the armour. Additionally, while wearing the armour you gain the following benefits.

  • You gain resistance to fire, cold, radiant and necrotic damage.
  • Your AC becomes 18 if it wasn't already 18 or higher.
  • Immediately after casting a spell with a casting time of one Action, you can make an unarmed strike against a creature you can see within 5 feet as part of the same action.
  • Your unarmoured strike's damage is now doubled against creatures and constructs made of inorganic materials such as stone, crystal, or metal.

Holy Warden

Starting at 6th level, when you use your "Ki" class feature abilities you gain the following benefits.

  • Divine wrath: When you land an unarmed strike with "flurry of blows" you deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage. (2d6 at 11th level)
  • Unwavering faith: When you take the dodge action as a result of "patient defence" you can gain the effects of "Shield of faith" as if you cast it on yourself at 1st level until the start of your next turn.
  • Angelic wings: When you use your "Step of the wind" ability you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed until the end of your turn.

Arcane deflection

You now gain the ability to use your "Deflect missiles" feature on the elemental and magical energies. When taking damage from a ranged spell attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by 1d10 + Wisdom modifier + Monk level.

If you can reduce the damage to 0 you can catch the spell/element and spend 1 Ki point to make a ranged spell attack with a range of 20 feet and long range of 60 feet, against a target you can see within range as part of the same reaction. The attack deals damage equal to the amount of damage you would have taken before you reduced it to 0.

Divine Form

Begining at 17th level your "Armoured Crusader" feature is no longer limited to 1 hour but now only ends if you fall unconscious or choose to use a Bonus action to dismiss the armour. Also while now wearing your Holy Armour you gain the additional benefits.

  • You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed as you are now able to summon your Angelic wings at will.
  • You can now add your Wisdom modifier to your Attack and Damage rolls made with your unarmed strikes.
  • When you roll any skill check or saving throw that doesn't use your Wisdom modifier, you can expend 1 Ki Point and add your Wisdom modifier to the result of that roll.
  • You now have Constitution checks/saving throws made to maintain concentration on your Devotion spells.
