Base Class: Wizard
Candlemakers use their candles for several unique purposes, from magical support to spellcasting to transportation. You could be a studious young spellcaster drawn to the very light you study by, having learned to use its dim glow to your own ends, or you could be an eerie specter who uses fear and teleportation to overwhelm your enemies. Regardless of the path you choose to take, each and every step of it will be bathed in soft light.
In the realm of arcane studies, the candlemaker is an enigmatic figure, weaving the delicate dance of light and magic into a symphony of power. With a keen understanding of the mystical properties inherent in every flicker of flame, a candlemaker transforms the humble candle into a conduit for arcane forces. Their chambers are adorned with a soft, ambient glow, casting shadows that whisper of ancient secrets. These spellcasters are drawn to the esoteric allure of candle magic, not only for its practical benefits in battles but for the profound connection it fosters between the caster and the ethereal realm.
A candlemaker's journey begins with the sacred art of crafting enchanted candles, each flame a manifestation of their arcane mastery. These luminous companions become not only sources of radiant power but also conduits for the caster's will, fostering an intimate connection that transcends the ordinary. In the heat of battle, a candlemaker strategically places their enchanted flames, allowing them to harness the very essence of light for defensive maneuvers and potent attacks. The flickering glow becomes a symbol of resilience and hope, weaving an intricate tapestry of magic that shapes the battlefield.
Light Your Way
Beginning when you select this subclass at 2nd level, you can use your action to create a Tiny magical candle. It has an AC of 5 and has 1 hit point. This candle can be placed on any flat surface and sheds dim light in a 10-foot radius, and it does not extinguish on its own. While within the radius of the dim light, when you or any of your allies would be hit by an incoming attack, they can use their reaction to teleport to any other unoccupied space within the dim light that is not also within 5 feet of the creature whose attack triggered their reaction, causing the attack to miss. You can use your bonus action to magically extinguish or light a candle if you are within 30 feet of it. Unlit candles do not shed light, and all of their magical effects are suspended. You cannot re-light a candle extinguished through mundane means (such as water or being blown out).
At any given time, you can have a maximum of three lit candles. If you attempt to light a fourth candle, the oldest lit candle extinguishes automatically. You can choose which candles are lit during your turn as a bonus action.
Flame Sculptor
You gain access to two of the six types of candles: the Candle of Hope, and the Candle of Dread. While within the radius of any of these candles' dim light, the Candlemaker and any of their allies deal additional damage with their spell attacks (see the table below), and they gain other benefits depending on the candle's type as described in the table below.

Wax Caster
At 6th level, while standing in the dim light of any of your lit candles, you can cast any spell as though you are standing in the location of any other candle, provided you can see the candle you wish to cast the spell from and it is lit. If the spell slot used is higher than 5th, roll a d20. On a roll that is less than the spell slot level, the spell is cast successfully, but the candle is destroyed.
Additionally, you can now have four candles lit instead of three, the range of your candles' dim light extends to 15 feet, and you gain access to the Peace and Wrath candles.
Lingering Network
At 10th level, you can use a bonus action to create a magical link, which takes the form of a thin glowing line, between two of your lit candles. While standing in the dim light radius of either of these candles, you can use a bonus action to teleport to any unoccupied space within the dim light radius of the other candle. The magical link persists even if one or both candles is unlit, though teleportation cannot be done unless both candles are lit. Both candles lose the connection if one of them is extinguished mundanely.
Up to three such links can be created, and there is no limit on how many links a single candle can sustain.
Additionally, you gain access to the Valor and Terror candles, and can now have five candles lit instead of four.
Awakened Fire
At 14th level, you can now have six lit candles instead of five. The range of the candles' dim light extends to 20 feet, and the candles now shed bright light within 10 feet and can no longer be extinguished by mundane means. Additionally, you can cast a spell from any of your lit candles, regardless of whether you can see it, and your candles can no longer be destroyed when casting higher-level spells. Finally, you can now create four teleportation links between candles, instead of three.
