Base Class: Barbarian
A cocky draconic companion to the Barbarian class for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.
Draconic Pride
Beginning at 3rd level when you choose this subclass, the narcissism of a dragon emanates from you when you rage, which bolsters you and terrifies lesser beings.
When you rage, scales form in various places on your body, and your eyes mirror those of a dragon’s. For the duration of your rage, you gain temporary HP at the start of your turn equal to your Charisma bonus, and whenever a creature within 30 feet of you misses you with an attack, you can assert dominance, forcing it to make a wisdom saving throw (DC = 10 + Charisma bonus + proficiency bonus) or become Frightened of you until the end of your next turn. Additionally, you can instead use your Charisma bonus for the attack and damage rolls of attacks that would normally use Strength, and you are immune to the Frightened and Charmed conditions while you rage.
Also at the start of your rage, choose one Primary Hubris to incur from the list below. The bonuses gained last until the end of your rage.
Pride’s Gambit
While this Hubris is active, your eyes are lit with the element of your draconic pride. Your AC is reduced by an amount equal to your Charisma bonus, but you add twice your Charisma bonus to any damage roll you make with an attack that would normally use your Strength bonus. If you use Reckless Attack while Pride’s Gambit is active, you instead add three times your Charisma bonus for the attacks you make. Attacks made while Pride’s Gambit is active can be changed to deal entirely Acid, Lightning, Fire, Poison, or Cold damage. (You choose when you choose this Hubris.)
Draconic Superiority
While this Hubris is active, small wings sprout from places of your choosing along your body. Your speeds all increase by 30 feet, and if you could not already fly, you can now fly, although you fall if nothing is holding you aloft at the end of your turn. If you move on your turn, your AC increases by an amount equal to your Charisma modifier until the start of your next turn.
Assert Dominance
While this Hubris is active, a glorious aura surrounds you. Whenever you Frighten a creature, all creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you (including yourself) gain 10 feet of speed until the end of their next turn, and their next attack roll within that time gains a bonus equal to your Charisma bonus.
Burning Zeal
When you reach 6th level, your pride burns so fiercely that it physically hurts your foes. While you are raging, an aura surrounds you that damages those you choose. When a creature starts or ends its turn within 10 feet of you, or enters that radius for the first time on its turn, you can choose to deal damage equal to your Charisma bonus and also reduce its speeds by 10 feet for the rest of its turn. You can choose to deal this damage and apply this slow to a creature whom you approach if your aura touches them when you do so, but you can only do so once per creature per turn. If you apply the slow by approaching a creature, the slow takes effect at the start of its next turn. The damage dealt by your aura can be Fire, Poison, Lightning, Acid, or Cold. (Choose when you rage.)
Mountainous Egotism
At 10th level, your Draconic Pride is so monstrous that you physically grow in size when you rage. While you are raging, if there is space, you and everything you are wearing increase to Large size. While you are larger this way, your melee attacks can reach 5 feet further.
Additionally, you gain Secondary Hubrises. One of these can be activated when you start your turn, and its bonuses last until the start of your next turn.
Triumphant Retort
While this secondary Hubris is active, energy matching your draconic pride dances along your body. When you take damage, you add half that damage to the next attack roll you make using Strength or Charisma. This bonus is pulled from the largest single instance of damage you have taken since the end of your last turn.
Dreadnought
While this secondary Hubris is active, creatures within your Burning Pride aura have disadvantage on saving throws against being Frightened, and creatures Frightened by you cannot move.
Prideful Critical
While this secondary Hubris is active, landing a critical hit on an attack roll that uses Strength or Charisma increases the damage of the following attack roll by an amount equal to four times your Charisma bonus.
Indomitable Swagger
At 14th level, your image of yourself has swollen so much that you force even your own limits to your whims. Whenever you would choose one Primary or Secondary Hubris, you can instead choose two to activate at once.
