Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Vampires are selfish and paranoid creatures. But they are also immensely powerful. In order to protect themselves, vampires will get their spawn to do their bidding. But if a spawn would manage to gain independence from the sovereign vampire, it would pose a great threat to their survival. Some immensely powerful vampires will take mortals to do their bidding, these mortals are called Renfields. The sovereign vampire can grant the mortal vampiric abilities, but can take away these abilities at will. Allowing a more certain control on the humanoid.

Expanded Spell List

The Vampire lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. (You must add them manually, I can’t publish if I build them into the subclass)

Hexblade Expanded Spells

Spell Level Spells
1st false life, hunter’s mark
2nd levitate, ray of enfeeblement
3rd vampiric touch, fear
4th phantasmal killer, shadow of moil
5th enervation, cone of cold

Vampiric Blast

Starting at 1st level, your eldritch blast is improved. When you cast eldritch blast you can change the damage type to necrotic damage. Additionally, once per short rest when you hit with an eldritch blast that deals necrotic damage, you heal a number of hit points equal to the damage dealt.

Vampiric Frenzy

At 1st level, you acquire certain vampiric abilities granted to you by your master. As a bonus action you can enter a vampiric frenzy, gaining the following benefits:

  •  You gain a bite attack, it deals 1d4 piercing damage + 1d6 necrotic damage. Your attack modifier for this is charisma. If you hit someone with an eldritch blast you can use this attack on them as a bonus action. The necrotic damage dealt by the bite attack increases to 2d6 at 6th level, 3d6 at 10th level, and 4d6 at 15th level.
  • You gain an unarmored defense that is 10 + your charisma modifier + your dexterity modifier
  • you gain resistance to necrotic damage but vulnerability to radiant damage.
  • You can replace any dexterity saving throw or skill check with your charisma modifier
  • Your speed is increased to 35, at 6th level it increases to 40, 45 at 10th level, and 50 at 15th level.

Every number of rounds equal to your charisma modifier you must hit a creature with a spell that deals necrotic damage or your bite attack or else your frenzy ends. You can use this feature up to 3 times, which resets every short rest.

Transfer Life Force

Starting at 6th level, you can take the life force you’ve consumed and use it to empower yourself. After hitting with your bite attack you can choose to either heal a number of hit points equal to half the damage dealt or add half the damage dealt to your next spell attack role.

Create Spawn

Starting at 10th level, you can create your own thrall. If a humanoid that you have hit with your bite attack dies while you are in your frenzy within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction to bring them back as a Vampire Spawn. This thrall’s initiative is the same it had in life, it has the same state block of a Vampire Spawn, and follows your command. If it dies it turns to a pile of dust, leaving all of its belongings behind. It dies when your frenzy ends. You can only have one spawn up at a time. You can use this feature up to 3 times, resetting on a short rest.

High Renfield

At 14th level, your vampiric nature is empowered. When you go into your vampiric frenzy, you gain the following features.

  • While in your vampiric frenzy, you gain the following benefits
    • You gain a climbing speed of 35’, and are able to walk on smooth vertical walls and ceilings.
    • You can command wolves and bats, being able to cast animal friendship on these creatures at will, only while in your frenzy however.
    • You can cast polymorph on yourself at will, but only to turn yourself into a bat, wolf, or cat.
    • As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 30 feet away from you while in your frenzy.
    • You can now create up to three spawn at a time, and can use the create spawn feature up to 5 times.
  • While in your vampiric frenzy, you gain the following detriments
    • You take 2d10 radiant damage if you end your turn while in direct sunlight. If you are killed in this way you turn to ash

    • you take 2d10 radiant damage if you consume or touch garlic, silver, or any holy symbol. If you are killed in this way you turn to ash
    • If you are stabbed in the heart with a wooden stake it deals 5d10 radiant damage and autocrits. If it reduces you to 0 hit points you die. If you are killed in this way you turn to ash
