The Barbaric Buccaneer is a brutish warrior pirate who relies on brute strength and force to overcome their enemies. They wield massive weapons and wear even heavier armor. What Buccaneers lack in speed and sharp replies, they gain in hard-hitting retaliation and ferocity.

Mighty Charge

Starting at 3rd level, when you move at least 20 feet straight towards a target without using an action, you can use your action to attack the target with Mighty Charge. Additionally, if you have not used your bonus action, you can use it to strike the target with a Glancing Blow. This glancing blow inflicts damage equal to 50% of your regular weapon damage modifier. You can use Mighty Charge a number of times equal to 1+ your proficiency bonus. Mighty Charge improves at level 5, 10, and 15. You regain all expended uses of Mighty Charge after finishing a long rest.

Blade Storm

Starting at 7th level, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack or defeat an enemy within melee range of a hostile creature, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack. If you score a critical hit and defeat your target on the same damage roll within melee range of an enemy, you can use two charges of Blade Storm. Usable a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Regain uses after a short rest.

Vengeance Strike

Starting at 10th level, when taking damage from a creature within melee range, use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. Usable a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Regain uses after a short rest.

Additionally, you can spend an additional reaction per long rest.

Highland Charge

Starting at 15th level, you can expend your action to use Highland Charge, which for 2 rounds grants double movement speed to you and all allies that can hear (i.e., allies not being affected by Deafness) within 30 feet of you.

Usable twice per long rest.

Relentless

At 18th level, you gain the Relentless action, which has the following effect:

  • After hitting a target with a melee weapon attack, you continue making additional attacks against the same target without any limit until you miss, but you can't end this action or your turn until you miss. Each successful attack deals regular weapon damage.
  • However, for each consecutive successful hit beyond the initial strike, you suffer a cumulative penalty. Starting from the second hit, you lose 5% of your maximum health per hit.

Grants two uses per long rest.
