Base Class: Monk
choosing to follow the mysterious ways of the wide expanse of space that persists between the fabric of reality and all the planes. Using this connection to the sea of stars that flow through the astral plane. Monks of the Astral Sea have movements that flow smoothly with a cloak of energy around limbs which looks like the night's sky, a dark blanket sprinkled with shimmering stars. A strike from the monk can leave behind traces of this Astral ki in this creature allowing to manipulate it during combat.
Astral Blessing
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your ki takes the visual appearance of a field of space and stars which influence the abilities you have. upon gaining this ability you gain access to the following abilities:
- Astral blade- as a bonus action you can spend 1 ki point to summon forth an astral blade from one free hand, while this is active your unarmed strike with that hand deals force damage and is treated to have the reach property, this blade can look like any weapon you please.
- Astral pulse: when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike you can spend 2 ki point, it must make a wisdom save. If it fails it hovers above the floor and is counted as if it is restrained.
- Astral body: when you use your bonus action to use step of the wind you may pass through 5 feet of objects or creatures as if it was difficult terrain but cannot end your turn inside an object.
Astral fragment
At 6th level, you gain the ability to flow your ki into other creatures, when you damage a creature with an action that you spent a ki point for you leave behind fragments of your ki aura. When a creature has ki fragments within them is hit by you deal extra damage equal to your monk level. Only one creature may have ki stored in them at a time. You can affect one more creature at levels 8, 12, 16 and 20.
Astral Defense
at 11th level, your body has acclimated to the astral forces that flow throughout your ki, While a creature has a fragment of your ki in them you have resistance to all nonmagical attacks made by that creature.
Comet storm
at 17th level, when you gain this power you can harness the power of a comet rocketing towards the sky above. You can use one of the following powers and cannot use either of them again until you take a long rest.
- When you make an attack action you can spend a number of ki equal to double the number of creatures with ki fragments in them, you can then fly across the battlefield attacking creatures with your ki in them (making an attack against each of them individually). You can make a number of attacks equal to your wisdom modifier, but you may not attack the same creature more than once in a row. Each time you make another attack against a creature add an additional 1d10 each attack (1d10, 2d10, etc).After you finish this action the remaining ki fragments in creatures dissipates and you gain ki back equal to half the creatures that had the ki fragment in them.
- As an action you can spend ki equal to double the number of creatures with ki fragments in them, then you charge your ki around you from the creatures around you that had your ki, for a single strike on one of these creatures. You deal your normal unarmed strike damage plus a number of d10s equal to the number of ki you spent. After you finish this action the remaining ki fragments in creatures dissipates and you gain ki back equal to half the creatures that had the ki fragment in them.
