Base Class: Barbarian
The Shugoki appear slow and cumbersome. Don’t let that fool you -- they possess the strength of a giant and an indomitable will. It takes incredible fortitude to be the guardians of your people. You must defend them at all costs and put their needs above your own. This has never been an issue for the Shugoki. Their weapon of choice seems unwieldy. But in their hands, it is as deadly and precise as any blade.
Strength of the Oni
At level 3 you deal +10 damage when using an Kanoba (Maul), with a +2 towards all strength-based rolls, and you gain +1 hp per level, but while raging the +2 becomes a +5 and you're now immune to becoming prone. [manually add hit and damage]
Oni manuevers
You gain these 4 maneuvers at level 3: Oni Throw, Oni Headbutt, Oni Charge, and Oni Sprint. [Each can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency score and recharges on a short rest.]
Oni Throw: If, at the start of your turn, you are grappling a creature of one size larger than you or smaller, you may use your Bonus Action to make a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the target's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. If you succeed, you may throw the grappled creature an amount of feet equal to your STR score (rounded up to closest 5). The creature takes 1d12+STR bludgeoning and is knocked prone with any additional damage it takes from fall damage equal to the amount of feet it was tossed.
Oni Headbutt: Whenever you attack something/someone you may use your bonus action to deal 1d8+str bludgeoning damage with the possibility of you stunning your opponent. The DC being 10+prof+str [mod] as the opponent must make a con save.
Oni Charge: You may attack as an action to charge towards your opponent using all your movement with the minimum distance being 10ft for the charge to work. Once you do the charge you must roll to hit, roll to grapple if you hit, and then roll 3d8+str+10 bludgeoning damage, with you healing for half of the damage dealt, in the end they're prone.
Oni Sprint: You may double your speed as a free action whenever you dash or disengage.
Frightening Strength
Beginning at 6th level, instead of gaining extra movement from fast movement or any other source (including monk), you gain +5 towards intimidation (including passive intimidation) or +5 damage with your maul or unarmed strikes. [manually add them]
Oni's Might
At level 10 you permanently become one size larger increasing your Oni maneuvers, unarmed strikes, and maul by two die, and you can shrink when needed to your original size.
The True Strength of the Oni
At level 14, your strength maximum and base score increases by 4, enemies trying to roll against your maneuvers are at disadvantage while you attack with advantage, and you deal an extra +10 damage with your maul with the addition of gaining +2 hp per level. [manually add the strength bonus]
