Base Class: Monk
These monks augment their fighting style with forceful grapples and flying leaps, all while shrugging off hits and trading blow for blow. Those who follow this path understand that you cannot be lost in a rage, but must instead have the ability to balance fury with sheer strength and iron discipline.
Brawler’s Discipline
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your combat prowess and discipline as a brawler manifests.
You gain the following benefits:
- Blow for Blow. When you are damaged by a creature that you can see within 5 feet of you, you may expend 1 ki point as a reaction to make an unarmed strike against the creature. When you reach 11th level in this class, you make two unarmed strikes instead.
- Shrug it Off. When you use your Patient Defense feature, all bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage you take from non-magical weapons is reduced by your proficiency bonus until the start of your next turn.
- Headlock Flurry. When you use your Flurry of Blows feature, you may replace one of the unarmed strikes with a grapple attack. When you reach 11th level in this class, you may replace each of the
Iron Defence
At 3rd level, you shrug off attacks with sheer strength. When calculating your AC with your Unarmoured Defence feature, you may use your Strength modifier instead of your Dexterity modifier.
Bounding Fist
Starting at 6th level, you focus your ki to launch yourself across the battlefield into the thick of the fight. Once per turn, when you use your movement to make a long jump. you may make a single unarmed strike against a target within your reach at the end of the long jump (no action required). If the attack hits, the creature takes additional damage equal to your Martial Arts damage die per 10 feet jumped.
In addition, when you make a long or high jump, you add your Unarmored Movement bonus to the number of feet you cover if you move at least 10 feet on foot immediately before the jump. When you make a standing long or high jump. you add half your Unarmored Movement bonus.
Iron Brutality
- Titan's Grip. The target of your grapples may now be up to two sizes larger than you. To do so, you must use at least two free hands. While grappling a creature in this way, your unarmed striked may only target the grappled creature.
- Iron Fist. Once per turn, when you hit a target with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 or more ki points, up to your proficiency bonus, to cause the strike to deal additional damage equal to your Martial Arts die per ki point spent.
Improved Discipline
You can spend 1 ki point to use your Blow for Blow reaction, regardless of whether you have used your reaction already during that round. You can only use Blow for Blow once per turn.
Brawler's Transcendence
Starting at 17th level, your iron discipline has allowed you to transcend pain. As an action, you can expend 5 ki points to become immune to all damage for the next minute. You must maintain concentration on this feature as if concentrating on a spell.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
