Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

As a ranger, having a beast companion is a huge boon. You have chosen to study the path of a mimic tamer. To do so is a perilous task that requires great mental acuity and fortitude. The easiest way is to train a baby mimic, which will follow you as it's mother. How you have taken this child is up to you and your GM. This creature may become a piece of armor, a weapon, or an item (equivalent to its size) and stay this way until you command it to change or it attacks a creature. Be wary of how you use your ability growth as you will gain spells as well as psionic talents.

Mimic Companion

You obtain a Tame Baby Mimic as your companion. It listens to your telepathic commands. The mimic acts on your initiative, but has its own movement, action, bonus action, and reactions. As you level up, your mimic grows with you, gaining more, stronger attacks (when you reach specific levels you will need to swap your mimic with the next upgraded type). Your mimic can act as any weapon, armor, or item of appropriate size (with the large size mimic it may be any two handed weapon, full set of armor, or large item such as a wagon).

Attack Swap

You gain better control of your mimic, allowing you to use one of your attacks to instead give your mimic a second attack.

Live Shape Change

Your mimic, watching many creatures throughout your journey, has learned to change into living creatures. As an action the mimic may become any beast of the same size with a challenge rating of 1/4 your ranger level. The mimic gains the creatures movement speed and physical abilities, keeping the same mental abilities of itself. The mimic cannot copy any creatures with a fly or swim speed and does not gain any of the creatures special abilities.

You can telepathically speak with your mimic companion as long as it is within 120 feet of you.

Mimic Spawn

Your mimic spawns tiny mimics of it's own. Every seven days the mimic spawns 1d4 tiny mimics. The mimics follow your commands as your companions. You may choose to keep them in object form, or release them to the wild after 14 days.
