Sorcerer Subclass: Mythkeeper of the Arcanum Origin

The Mythkeeper of the Arcanum Origin is a prestigious lineage for sorcerers whose veins surge with the latent power of the Weave, a multi-dimensional tapestry of arcane energy. These sorcerers are the scions of the Mythkeepers, an ancient order that once stood as the realm’s sentinels, harmonizing the ebb and flow of magic to maintain balance in the world.

Embarking on the path of the Mythkeeper of the Arcanum is to accept one's role in an age-old legacy—a heritage steeped in mysteries that transcend the understanding of ordinary mages. Sorcerers of this origin possess a natural affinity to the Weave, capable of perceiving and interacting with it in ways that other spellcasters can only dream of. Their magic is a culmination of legacy and power, drawn from an ancestral bond that enhances their spells and empowers their very being.

These sorcerers are seekers of the weave, believing that magic, like all forces of nature, must be wielded responsibly to avoid catastrophic disruption to the world's primordial energies. They are the wardens of arcane harmony, utilizing their connection to the Weave to control and manipulate their spells with remarkable finesse and efficiency. To others, the Weave may seem an infinite and untamable force, yet to the Mythkeeper of the Arcanum, it is an intimate and fundamental part of existence—both a source of might and a responsibility to uphold.

The Mythkeeper of the Arcanum trains their mind and spirit to draw upon the Weave’s subtle whispers, allowing them to channel their sorcery in ways that often leave onlookers in awe. The air crackles around them, magic pulses in their gaze, and the fabric of the universe bends subtly to their will. In times of rest, they meditate upon the Weave's mysteries, and in combat, they become conduits of its vast power, shaping the field with an effortless command of spellcraft.

Choosing the Mythkeeper of the Arcanum Origin means choosing to walk a demanding path that requires one to master esoteric knowledge, maintain arcane oaths, and embody the ancient guardians’ principles. It's a journey fraught with peril and sacrifice, but for those who are called, and for those who answer, the rewards transcend mere magical might—it is the promise of a legacy that will echo through the ages.

Threads of the Weave

You have an innate ability to perceive the threads of magic that connect all things. On Intelligence (Arcana) checks you gain a bonus equal to your Charisma Modifier. Your Connection to the weave gives you great insight into the magic of the weave.

Echoing Resonance

Your soul vibrates with an echo of magic from the time immemorial. Whenever a creature targets you with a spell, the resonant energy within you can harm the caster. The creature takes Force damage equal to your proficiency bonus if the spell fails to affect you either through a successful saving throw or by missing you with an attack roll. This potentially can cause your attacker to lose concentration on spells and other effects as you disrupt their weave.

Arcanum Aegis

At 6th level, you've learned to weave protective barriers that safeguard you and your companions. As a reaction when you or an ally within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can spend 2 sorcery points to reduce that damage by an amount equal to your sorcerer level plus your Charisma modifier. Additionally, the shielded creature gains resistance to the damage type they were dealt until the beginning of your next turn.

Summoner’s Call

Upon reaching 14th level, your mastery over the Weave grants you the ability to bend its energies to summon a guardian spirit. As an action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to call forth an arcane guardian from the Weave. This entity appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 60 feet of you, taking the form of a creature of a CR equal to or less than your proficiency bonus The guardian obeys your commands and fights to protect you and your allies for 1 hour or until it drops to 0 hit points. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you complete a long rest.

Arcanum Convergence

When you reach 18th level, you can tap into the heart of the Weave to unleash its full potential upon your allies. As an action, you can spend 6 sorcery points to create an Arcanum Convergence zone with a 60-foot radius centered on yourself. Allies within the zone have their weapon attacks and spells suffused with weaving energy, dealing an additional 4d6 damage of a type chosen by you when you create the zone (force, radiant, or necrotic). This additional damage ignores resistance but not immunity. The zone lasts for 1 minute or until your concentration is broken (as if concentrating on a spell). Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

The Arcanum Mythkeeper is an arcane force multiplier, one who commands the respect of their peers for the formidable enhancements they offer and the arcane might they wield. Their connection to the ancient Weave makes them both potent sorcerers and invaluable allies on any battlefield.
