Abyssal Armament:

At the heart of an Abyssal Reaver's power is their Abyssal Armament, a weapon forged from the essence of the abyss. Whether it be a demonic greataxe, a cursed whip, or an abyssal spear, this weapon is summoned with a dark, crackling energy. Each strike with the Abyssal Armament is an echo of the chaotic depths from which it draws its power.

 

Abyssal Infusion:

As Abyssal Reavers advance, they can infuse their weapon with abyssal enhancements. This may include causing shockwaves on critical hits, leaving behind magical darkness as they teleport through shadows, or unveiling other demonic capabilities that amplify their combat prowess.

 

Demonic Onslaught:

Abyssal Reavers excel in the art of swift and deadly strikes. At higher levels, they can unleash a Demonic Onslaught, delivering a flurry of attacks in a single turn. This relentless assault reflects their connection to the abyss, where chaos and destruction reign supreme.

 

Abyssal Conduit:

As these warriors reach the pinnacle of their power, they become Abyssal Conduits. Dreadful Form:

Abyssal Armament

You gain the ability to summon an Abyssal Armament as a bonus action. This weapon is magical and can be chosen from a list of demonic options, such as a greataxe, cursed whip, or abyssal spear. Additionally, as an action, you can transform one non-magical melee weapon you are holding into your Abyssal Armament, imbuing it with the power of the abyss.

Abyssal Armament Ritual (Optional):

As an Abyssal Reaver progresses in their journey, they may seek to forge a permanent bond with their chosen weapon, transforming it into an enduring Abyssal Armament. This ritual requires time, concentration, and a connection to the abyss.

Requirements:

Abyssal Essence: A vial of abyssal essence, a rare substance obtained from the heart of the abyss, serving as a catalyst for the transformation.

Focus: The weapon that the Abyssal Reaver wishes to transform, symbolizing their commitment to the path of the abyss.

Consecrated Ground: A location infused with abyssal energy, typically found in areas where the veil between planes is thin.

 

Procedure:

Preparation: The Abyssal Reaver must spend an uninterrupted long rest in meditation, attuning themselves to the abyssal energies.

Invocation: During the ritual, the Abyssal Reaver must recite a specific invocation, calling upon the chaotic forces of the abyss and expressing their intent to forge an unbreakable bond with their weapon.

Infusion of Abyssal Essence: The vial of abyssal essence is carefully applied to the weapon, imbuing it with the essence of the abyss. This process takes the entire duration of the long rest.

Consecration: The ritual must take place in a location where the abyssal energy is palpable. This could be a naturally occurring abyssal rift or a site that has been ritually consecrated by abyssal forces.

Outcome:

Upon the successful completion of the Abyssal Armament Ritual, the weapon is permanently transformed into an Abyssal Armament. It gains the properties described in the Abyssal Reaver subclass, and the bond between the weapon and the Reaver becomes unbreakable. If the weapon is ever lost or destroyed, the Abyssal Reaver can repeat the ritual with a new weapon to reestablish the connection.

The force of this cleave leaves adversaries reeling, granting the Abyssal Reaver a momentary advantage in the chaos of the battlefield.

Shadowstep:

Alternatively, the Abyssal Reaver masters the art of swift and elusive movements. Once per short rest, the warrior can invoke the shadows, using the Abyssal Armament as a conduit to teleport up to 30 feet in any direction as a bonus action. Leaving behind a fleeting area of magical darkness, the Abyssal Reaver emerges from the shadows, strategically repositioned and ready to continue their assault.
