Bard
Base Class: Bard

A bard that has gone through the college of the ringmaster is a very special type of bard that takes on the role of a leader.  Bards that seek this college often develop skills and features that help them make others shine.  They are not seeking the spotlight so much as just having a desire to put on a show for everyone.  These showman thrive at identifying and hiring talented individuals to their performances.  They strive to bring out the best in each and every one of the members of their troop, circus, act or whatever else it is that the Ringmaster desires.  Bards that strive for the college of the Ringmaster are seeking to lead and this is not limited to being the ringmaster of a circus.  They could lead an acting troop, manage multiple bands that put on a concert, or any number of other positions where they lead others in performances and entertainment.  It is little wonder that bards that seek this path are often referred to as the greatest showmen.

Coordinating Inspiration

3rd-level College of The Ringmaster feature

Those who have one of your bardic inspiration die that is not used gain a bonus to attack, save and skill checks.

This bonus is +1 to begin.  It raises to a +2 bonus at level 10 and +3 bonus at level 17.

Lead the Performance

3rd-level College of the Ringmaster feature

Your unspent Bardic Inspirations provide you a bonus as you coordinate your skills and magic with others.

When you put on a show, act, or performance of some kind you get a bonus to your skill checks equal to the number of allies with unspent bardic inspiration die.

When you cast a spell your spell attack and spell save DC is increased by one for each ally that has an unspent bardic inspiration die.

Inspiring Spellwork

6th-level College of The Ringmaster feature

You can cast a second concentration spell on a target that has one of your unspent Inspiration die.  This does not cause you to lose concentration on a spell you already have concentration on.  This allows you to concentrate on two spells as long as one of the spells targets a creature with one of your unspent Inspiration Die.  Whenever you would make a concentration check you do so for both spells individually for each concentration check.  If the target with your unspent Inspiration Die uses it or loses the Inspiration Die you must choose one spell to maintain concentration on and lose concentration on the other instantly.

Lasting Performance

6th-level College of the Ringmaster feature

Putting on a show takes a lot more time and effort then other forms of art.  To coordinate something like that can take hours as such bards skill in the College of the Ringmaster extend the duration their bardic inspiration die.  While unspent a Bardic die from a College of the Ringmaster bard can last up to 1 hour instead of 10 minutes.

Domain Stage

14th-level College of the Ringmaster feature

The show must go on and typically a bard's magic can inspire only so many for so long.  A College of the Ringmaster bard focuses on coordinating the show which can last hours and as such can channel their magic in different ways when they do so.  A College of the Ringmaster bard can create a location call Domain Stage.  Domain Stage allows you to coordinate your action with your allies in new ways.  By coordinating with your allies you can now take new bonus actions with your acting troop or allies on their field as you direct their actions to make them the best performers they can be.

As an action you can create Domain Stage centered on your location.  The Domain has a 100ft radius centered on your location when created.  It does not move with you and is fixed to the location it was created on.  While you are inside it and conscious, allies with unspent bardic inspiration dice, also within Domain Stage gain advantage on all skill checks.  In addition, they can perform a skill check as a bonus action instead of as an action. While Domain Stage is up, as a bonus action, you can do one of the following:

  • Stage Shift - You can swap the location of two creatures inside Domain Stage by teleporting them as long as one of them has an unspent bardic inspiration die.
  • Hook Them - Choose one ally inside Domain Stage with an unspent bardic Inspiration die; they are teleported next to you.
  • Prompt Line - Choose one ally inside Domain Stage with an unspent bardic inspiration die; they can make a weapon attack as a reaction immediately.
  • Cue Effects - Choose one ally inside Domain Stage with an unspent bardic inspiration die can cast a spell as a reaction provided the spell takes one action to cast and is level 1, 2 or a cantrip immediately.
  • Set Scene - You cast Hallucinatory Terrain except it affects the 100ft radius Domain Stage area.
  • Lights - You can change the lighting within the 100ft radius area of Domain Stage.  You can plunge it into magical darkness, bathe it with sunlight, or create other lighting effects you deem necessary for the performance.

Domain Stage lasts for 1 hour.  Once you use this ability you cannot use it again until the next day.

If Domain stage is created on the same location every day for a month it becomes Domain Stage Home.  Stage Domain Home remains as a permanent location with all the above effects while you are inside it.  This location can be treated as a teleportation circle location for you but no one else.  You can only have one Domain Stage Home at any time.  Creating another one will remove the Domain Stage Home from any previous locations.
