Base Class: Monk
The Monks following the way of the Ki Blocker learn to not only attack a creature's body, but also its energy flow. By focussing their Ki at specific points they can interrupt this flow and temporary disable some functions, such as movement, the ability to grip things or even sight. Their mastery over the Ki flow also allows them to recharge their own Ki pool by sacrificing their life energy and even steal Ki from others. Using these techniques, they become experts at immobilizing their opponents without killing them.
Ki Point Strikes
Starting at 3rd level, you know where to hit creatures to interrupt their energy flow and thereby hinder some of their muscles. When you hit a creature with at least one of your attacks granted by the attack action, you can use you bonus action to impose one of the following effects:
- The creature has disadvantage one its next attack.
- Its movement speed is reduced by 10ft.
- The next attack against it had advantage.
- It has disadvantage on its next intelligence, wisdom or charisma save.
These effects last until the start of your next turn. You cannot use this feature on constructs or undead creatures.
Energy Flow Block
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your Ki to block higher functions of a creature, weakening it. As an action you can touch a creature within 5ft of you and use a Ki point to have it make a constitution save. One a failed save you can impose one of the following effects:
- The creature is blinded or deafened. It can remake the save at the end of its turn to end the effect.
- The creatures walking speed is halved and if it tries to Dash it must first succeed on a constitution save, falling prone on a fail. It can remake the save at the end of its turn to end the effect.
- The creature drops one item of your choice that its holding.
- The creature can't attack more than once, cast spells that aren't cantrips and take reactions until the start of your next turn.
- The creatures AC drops by 2 until the end of your next turn.
- The creature has disadvantage on all dex and strength saves and checks until the end of you next turn.
- The creature has disadvantage on all wisdom, charisma and intelligence saves and checks until the end of you next turn.
- The creature becomes vulnerable to the next attacks that hits.
If the creature succeeds in its constitution save, you can impose one of the effects of you Ki Points Strikes feature instead.
In addition, you can make a unarmed strike as a bonus action after you have taken this action.
Ki Recharge
Starting at 6th level, you have learned how to redirect your life energy to Recharge you Ki. As an action you can regain up to 5 Ki points and take 5 damage per Ki point regained. You cannot regain more thanks your max Ki points and once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you have taken a short or long rest.
Ki Siphon
Starting at 11th level, when you hit a creature in the right spot, their energy can be siphoned. When you score a critical hit on a creature, you regain 1 Ki point.
Ki Blockade
As an action you can touch a creature within 5ft of you and spend 5 Ki points to have it make a constitution saving throw. On a failed save the creature is paralyzed. On a successful save the creature is stunned. At the end of the creatures turn it can remake the save. If it was paralyzed a successful save will make it stunned. If it was stunned a successful save will end this condition.
