Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

While most barbarians are known for their ferocity in battle, there are those that intensely walk the line between life and death. These Reapers take on a solemn duty to ensure those who are due to die successfully meet their end. Their presence on the battlefield is a promise of death to one, if not many. Some of these Reapers have connections to a deity or extraplanar power that demands souls meet their predestined ends. Others answer a call to ensure the sanctity of death and hunt down defilers of the afterlife.

Death Bringer

When the rage takes you, few can escape the death you bring. While raging, when you roll the maximum on your weapon damage die, you can reroll and add the second roll to the initial damage. Additionally, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, each creature of your choice within 5 feet of the slain creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + PB + your Constitution modifier) or be frightened of you until the end of its next turn.

The Reaper Cometh

Starting at 6th level, you have advantage on saving throws triggered by effects from undead creatures, excluding spells. Additionally, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points or hit a creature with a critical hit, you gain temporary hit points equal to your barbarian level.

Call to the Beyond

Starting at 10th level, you are able to step into the spirit world and commune with the spirits you have sent to the afterlife. Once per day, by completing a 10-minute meditation you can call forth a spirit from the beyond to answer your questions. You cast the speak with dead spell on any creature you killed in the last 10 days whose name you know. The creature can’t lie to you while under this effect.

I Am Become Death

At 14th level you become the mortal form of death. While raging, your reach increases by 5 feet as your weapon takes on a spectral appearance. Additionally, your Death Bringer feature now requires creatures within 10 feet of the slain creature to make the Wisdom saving throw, and if a creature fails the save by 5 or more, it is also incapacitated until the end of your next turn.
