Base Class: Barbarian
In the rugged and untamed lands where the Tormented Titans emerge, legends speak of a rare breed of barbarians whose rages are so intense that they tear their very bodies apart. Whispers of their existence spread through remote villages and among tribes as cautionary tales, warning of the high price that comes with wielding such unparalleled strength.
The origins of this path are shrouded in mystery, with some claiming it to be a curse from vengeful spirits, while others believe it to be a divine blessing bestowed upon those chosen to walk the line between mortal and otherworldly power. Regardless of its source, those who follow the Tormented Titan path are marked by their ability to tap into an unparalleled rage that defies the limits of the mortal frame.
These individuals are often lone wanderers, for few can withstand the destructive force of their own fury. Villages speak of the occasional sighting of a Tormented Titan on the horizon, their silhouette distorted by the violent energies that surround them. Tales are told of their feats of strength, but the stories always carry a grim undertone—the inevitable toll their rage takes on their bodies.
Legends persist of ancient Tormented Titans who achieved incredible deeds in their short lives, leaving behind a trail of awe and terror. The few who have witnessed these warriors in battle speak of a whirlwind of raw power and destruction, an embodiment of both awe and horror. Yet, in the aftermath, the Tormented Titan is left battered and bloodied, the toll of their rage evident in the wounds that mar their once-mighty form.
Despite the dangers and the inevitable fate that awaits those who walk this path, some are drawn to the Tormented Titan's power. A rare few believe that the sacrifices they endure are a small price to pay for the strength to protect their people or achieve some greater purpose. Whether cursed or blessed, the Tormented Titans are an enigma, a rare and fearsome sight in the vast and unforgiving landscapes where their stories unfold.
Raging Strain
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, your incredible feats of strength are fueled by an otherworldly rage, but this power takes a toll on your body. While raging, your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 1d4 damage for every 3 barbarian levels you have, rounded down. However, at the start of each of your turns, you take 1d6 slashing damage. This damage cannot be reduced or prevented by any means.
Unbridled Might
Beginning at 6th level, while raging, you gain advantage on the first attack you make each turn.
Enduring Fury
Beginning at 10th level, you gain advantage on saving throws while under the effects of exhaustion and no longer have disadvantage on saving throws while exhausted.
True Rage
Starting at 14th level, when you enter your rage, you can choose to enter a heightened state of rage. While in this heightened state you gain the following benefits:
- Your strength score increases by 4 (maximum of 24).
- All of your attacks gain advantage.
- Your attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 18-20.
However, during this time, each time you take damage from your raging strain, your hit point maximum is reduced by the amount of taken until you finish a long rest or until a creature casts greater restoration to remove this effect. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
