Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Encounters with denizens of the Feywild can at times expose mortals to new extremes of mystical violence. Rogues who have taken the title of Red Cap have learned to use this mystical bloodlust for their own purpose. Must like their namesake, these rogues are adept at slaughter.

Bonus Proficiency

Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to read, write, and speak Sylvan. If you already have proficiency in this language you can select a different one.

Bloodthirst

3rd-level Red Cap feature

The blood lust of the unseelie fae infuses your deadliest attacks in an effort to bleed your victims. Immediately after you deal your Sneak Attack damage to a creature on your turn, you can apply a special bleed effect on that target. Every round at the start of that creature's turn, they take 1d6 points of damage. This effect lasts 1 minute.  At the end of their turn, the affected creature can attempt to make a CON save to end the effect. The DC for this check is equal to 8 + your Dexterity Modifier + your Proficiency bonus. The damage from this effect cannot stack with subsequent attacks, but a successful sneak attack will reset the effect's duration.

In addition, a creature affected by this ability is marked by your murderous desire, allowing you to more effectively land killing blows. You can always use your Sneak Attack feature against a target who is under the effects of your Bloodthirst ability, even if you don't meet any of the other requirements, so long as you are not at disadvantage.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Blood Scent

9th-level Red Cap feature

Using your Fae blood lust to guide you, you can more easily find your destined prey. When making a Perception or Survival check to find a creature who is below their max health, you are always considered to have proficiency with those skills. If you are already proficient with that skill, you are considered to have expertise instead. If the target is under the effect of your Bloodthirst ability, you have advantage on this roll.

Follow the Red Path

13th-level Red Cap feature

You allow your supernatural murderous nature to propel you forward for a brief time. You can choose to double your movement speed for one round, but only if your movement brings you closer to a creature that is below their maximum hit points. If that creature is affected by your Bloodthirst ability, you ignore the effects of difficult terrain while making this move.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

The damage dealt each round by Bloodthirst increases to 2d6

Wish for Slaughter

17th-level Red Cap feature

Your murderous desire has grown powerful, and you gain the following benefits:

  • When you roll initiative you regain one use of your Bloodthirst ability if you don't have any.
  • You can ignore any disadvantage on an attack roll when attacking a target under the effects of your Bloodthirst ability.
  • The damage dealt each round by Bloodthirst increases to 3d6.
