Base Class: Monk
In some rare instances of ki usage, some practitioners use it to see glimpses into the future. Those who are more adept in this practice have learned to wield it in combat scenarios, and in day to day life.
Patient Stance
At 3rd level, you’re able to see seconds into the future during combat, and react accordingly. When using your patient defense ki feature, you can increase your AC by a roll of your martial arts die, and you gain resistance to a damage type of your choice until the end of your next turn.
Additionally, you cannot be surprised, and you gain advantage on insight and perception checks.
Split-Second Callouts
At 6th level, you're able to help defend yourself by distracting an enemy with eerily accurate details about them. When you use Patient Defense, you may also make an unarmed strike against a creature within 5 feet as part of the same action. A creature hit with this attack has disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you while within 5 feet of you until the end of your next turn.
Temporal Defense
Starting at 11th level, you are able to use your foresight to bolster your overall defense. You can now add your constitution modifier to your total unarmored defense score. Additionally, whenever you fall prone, you may choose to immediately stand up (no action required), your foresight allowing you to correct your falls.
Future Sight
Starting at 17th level, you’re able to grant glimpses of the future to help your allies in combat. As an action, you can expend 5 ki points to give your your allies within 10ft one of two buffs for one minute:
- Predictive. Creatures have advantage on dexterity saving throws, and receive an AC bonus equal to your wisdom modifier for the duration.
- Preemptive. Creatures have advantage on the first attack each round, and receive an additional 1d6 on damage rolls for the duration.
