Base Class: Wizard
The Order of Skywatchers is an enigmatic group, even within wizard circles, who have learned to channel power from their meticulous observation of celestial bodies. Many of its members spend countless nights within their observatories jotting down the location of a star or updating their equation predicting when a certain planet will zenith. A seasoned Skywatcher is a sight to behold when their starlit magics spell weal for their allies, and woe for their enemies.
Astronomer's Skill
Starting at 2nd level, you gain 30 feet of darkvision in addition to any you already have. You also gain proficiency with cartographer's tools and navigator's tools.
Astral Motes
Whenever you finish a short or long rest you may summon a number of motes of starlight equal to half your Wizard level (rounded down). They gently orbit around you and collectively shed bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet. You can use a bonus action to send one of the motes streaking toward one creature or object within 60 feet of you. When you do so, make a ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes radiant damage equal to 1d4 + your Intelligence Modifier. Whether you hit or miss, the mote is expended.
Constellation Boon
Starting at 6th level, once each day when you can see the night sky, you may spend 10 minutes observing the stars. You become magically attuned to a constellation determined by rolling on the Constellation table below gaining its benefit. The granted boon lasts for 8 hours.
Constellation
| D12 | EFFECT |
|---|---|
| 1 | Skull: You gain the effects of the False Life spell as a 1st-level spell except the duration is 8 hours. |
| 2 | Balance: Rolls you make using a d20 can have neither advantage nor disadvantage. |
| 3 | Sage: You get a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and your spell save DC. |
| 4 | Throne: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened. |
| 5 | Key: You gain proficiency with Thieves' Tools for the duration. If you already have proficiency your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses them instead. |
| 6 | Flames: You have advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) and Charisma (Deception) checks. |
| 7 | Knight: You get a +1 bonus to melee weapon damage and attack rolls. |
| 8 | Euyrale: You can move across difficult terrain without expending extra movement if it is composed of natural materials (such as plants, dirt, rocks, etc.). |
| 9 | Rogue: You can cast the spell Pass without Trace once without expending a spell slot or material components. |
| 10 | Gem: When you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll. |
| 11 | Talons: When a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw you can use your reaction to roll 1d4 and subtract the number rolled from the creature’s roll. You make this decision before the DM determines whether the roll succeeds or fails. If you do, the next attack roll, ability check, or saving throw you make is subtracted by the same amount. |
| 12 | Jester: Once per turn, the DM can have you roll a d20 immediately after you cast a wizard spell of 1st level or higher. If you roll a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table in the Player's Handbook. If that effect is a spell, and if it normally requires concentration, it doesn’t require concentration in this case; the spell lasts for its full duration. |
Stellar Magnitude
Starting at 10th level, if you would roll dice to determine the damage of an attack that deals radiant or force damage, you may use the maximum value of those dice instead. This feature may be used a number of times equal to your Intelligence Modifier and you regain all uses when you finish a long rest.
Cosmic Mastery
At 14th level, your extensive study of astronomy improves your other Skywatcher features.
The darkvision granted by Astronomer's Skill is increased to 60ft.
The damage die for Astral Motes is increased to 1d8.
When you roll for Constellation Boon you may roll twice and keep the result of your choice.
You may use Stellar Magnitude a number of times equal to twice your Intelligence modifier.
