Great Sword Mastery

The Swordsman learns how to properly wield their weapon, increasing the damage die to a d8.

Scout Flies

If the Swordsman has an object that has the scent of their target they gain advantage on their Investigation checks on tracking them down. If the Swordsman finds tracks of their target they get advantage on Survival checks that involve tracking them down.

Animal Companion

At 3rd level, you gain a animal companion that accompanies you on your adventures and is trained to fight alongside you. Add your proficiency bonus to the animal's AC, attack rolls, and damage rolls, as well as to any saving throws. Its hit point maximum equals four times your ranger level. During a short rest it regains all hit points.

The animal obeys your commands as best as it can. It takes its turn on your initiative. On your turn as a bonus action, you can verbally command the beast where to move and verbally command it to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, or Help action. If you don't issue a command, the beast takes the Dodge action. Once you have the Extra Attack feature, this applies to your animal when you command the beast to take the Attack action.

If you are incapacitated or absent, the animal acts on its own, focusing on protecting you and itself. The animal  never requires your command to use its reaction, such as when making an opportunity attack.

While traveling through your favored terrain with only the animal, you can move stealthily at a normal pace.

If the animal dies, you can obtain a new companion by spending 8 hours magically bonding with an animal that isn’t hostile to you and that meets the requirements.

Strength over Speed

At 5th level, the Swordsman does not gain the ability to attack multiple times, instead increasing the force of their lone attack.

Whetstone

Beginning at 7th level,  when the Swordsman uses a bonus action to use a Whetstone their weapon damage die is increased to a D12. After each weapon attack the weapon damage die lowers to a subsequent D10, D8, D6, and finally a D4.

Shoulder Tackle

Starting at 11th level,  the Swordsman can use their bonus action to force one target in melee range to make a constitution saving throw. On a fail, the opponent is stunned until the end of the Swordman's turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to one plus your strength modifier(minimum once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a short rest.

Improved Whetstone

Beginning at 15th level, the Swordsman uses an action to use a Whetstone their weapon damage die is increased to a d12. The Swordsman can attack twice at each damage level before it is lowered to the next tier: d10, d8, and finally d6.
