Base Class: Ranger
The Lunar Heart archetype draws on a ranger’s connection to the moon and an ancient bond with a lunar deity. Born of the same magic that created lycanthropes, this ranger is a descendant of a true shifter, one who maintains control and coexists with nature instead of turning savage.
Lunar Form
Starting at 3rd level, you can use an action to magically assume the shape of your chosen beast or end your Lunar Form. You can use this feature twice, and regain expended uses when you finish a long rest.
This beast must be one from the following list, and once chosen, can only be changed over a long rest. Most Lunar rangers carry some items connected to their chosen beast to improve the bond to the animal’s spirit, such as a necklace of teeth or hide bracers.

Additional Lunar Form
At 7 level, you can choose an additional Lunar Form from the table to assume on a long rest. In addition, you can now activate your Lunar Form as a bonus action.
Advanced Lunar Form
Starting at 11 level, you can use your Lunar form up to three times per long rest. You can choose forms from the Lunar Form table and the Advanced Lunar Form table below.

Lunar Wrath
Starting at 15 level, when you would fall unconscious as a result of reaching 0 hit points, you can expend a use of your Lunar Form to instantly change into one of your chosen forms. While in this Lunar Form, you and the beast within struggle for control. At the start of your turn each round, you must make a DC 15 Wisdom Saving Throw. On a fail you must attack the nearest creature to you, regardless of if they are friend or foe. On a success you can choose who to target for the round. This change lasts for 10 rounds or until your Lunar Form reaches 0 hit points, at which point you exit your Lunar Form and regain hit points equal to half of your hit point maximum. Once this feature has been used, it can't be used again until you complete a long rest.
