Base Class: Warlock
You have made your pact with a mysterious entity from The Shadowfell, perhaps the Raven Queen or another powerful creature that emanates ancient magic, shrouded in a veil of endless shadows and illusions. Shadow-Veiled Warlocks harness their patron's obscuring magic to hide themselves from others, becoming masters in subterfuge and striking enemies with the element of surprise, uncanny accuracy and deadly power, all while hidden from the shadows.
- The Shadow-Veiled Features (Level 1-14):
- 1st Level - Shadow Foot, Veil Strike
- 6th Level - Shadowstalker
- 10th Level - Shadow's Protection
- 14th Level - Shadow Step
Shadow Foot
Your shadowy patron grants you otherworldly knowledge and enhances your skills related to subterfuge and striking first, unseen from the shadows.
Starting at 1st level, you gain expertise in Stealth, Sleight of Hand and Thieves Tools. In addition, you have advantage on Dexterity checks while lightly or heavily obscured. Finally, you can add your Charisma modifier to your initiative rolls.
Veil Strike
Starting at 1st level, once per round while you or your target are lightly or heavily obscured, you can use Veil Strike to add 1d4 to the damage of any spell with an attack roll when striking a creature. You gain an additional Veil Strike dice every 2 levels of Warlock. 2d4 at 3rd level, 3d4 at 5th level, 4d4 at 7th level, 5d4 at 9th level, 6d4 at 11th level, 7d4 at 13th level, 8d4 at 15th level, 9d4 at 17th level and 10d4 at 19th level.
Additionally, at 3rd level, your Veil Strike extends to the tools of your pact boon.
Pact of The Blade Warlocks can now use Veil Strike with their Pact Weapons.
Pact of the Chain Warlocks can now have their Familiars use Veil Strike.
Pact of the Tome Warlocks gain an extra Charisma modifier to Veil Strike damage with Cantrips.
Shadowstalker
Starting at Level 6, your strikes become more deadly, landing critical hits more frequently. Your critical threat range increase by 1 (this stacks with other critical threat range features, such as the Level 3 Champion Fighter feature) which means you now critically hit when rolling a 19 or 20 with a d20 on an attack roll.
In addition, your patron bestows you with the power to siphon the dark essence from all creatures and wreath yourself in shadows. When landing a critical hit on a creature or slaying a creature, you become invisible until the end of your next turn. This effect breaks early after attacking or casting a spell.
Shadow's Protection
The shadows bestowed by your patron obscure you from your foes and shield you from harm.
Gain +2 Armour Class while in Dim Light, or Darkness, or while you are heavily or lightly obscured.
While in Darkness (magical or otherwise) you gain resistance to magical and non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Shadow Step
At 14th level, your patron allows your very being to become one with the dark, bestowing you the ability to turn into a twisting cloud of shadows and move between areas of darkness.
Once per round on your turn, you can teleport to an unoccupied space that you can see within 120ft/24m using a bonus action, as long as the space is in dim light or darkness.
After teleporting in this way, you gain resistance to all magical and non-magical damage and have advantage on Dexterity saving throws until the end of your next turn.
Finally you can empower your next attack against a creature after teleporting to become a critical hit. You can use this empowerment a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. The uses of this feature reset after a long rest.
