Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Shedding the bulkiness of armor and the weight of weaponry, you find more maneuverability and strength in your raw power as a brawler.

Unarmored Defense

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, while you are not wearing any armor, your armor class equals 10 + your Constitution modifier + your Charisma modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.

Pugilist’s Might

Starting at 3rd level, your unarmed attacks deal 1d6 bludgeoning damage in place of their normal damage. This damage increases to 1d8 at 5th level, 1d10 at 11th level, and 1d12 at 17th level. In addition, once per turn when you land a critical hit, you gain one extra unarmed attack as a part of your Attack action.

Brawler Points

At 7th level, you gain a pool of Brawler Points equal to your proficiency bonus. These points can be used to gain the following effects:

  • Check Hook: When an enemy misses an attack on you, you may expend 1 Brawler Point to use your reaction to attack them.
  • Bob and Weave: When an enemy hits you with a single-target attack, you may expend 1 Brawler Point to half the damage dealt.
  • Clinch: When you hit a creature with an unarmed attack, you may expend 1 Brawler Point to attempt to grapple them.
  • Challenge: As a bonus action, you may expend 1 Brawler Point to put an enemy under the effects of Compelled Duel (DC equal to 8 + Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus)

You regain all expended Brawler Points when you finish a short or long rest.

Pure Brute

Starting at 10th level, when you make a skill check that uses Strength or Charisma, you may treat a d20 roll of 9 or less as a 10.

Improved Brawler Skills

Starting at 15th level, you receive the following abilities:

  • Spike: When you are grappling a creature, you may use one of your attacks to force them to make a Strength saving throw (DC equal to 8 + Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature is prone and takes 2 damage dice of your unarmed strike. On a successful save, the creature is not prone but still takes a damage die of your unarmed strike. Either way, the targeted creature is no longer grappled.
  • Chokeout: When you are grappling a creature, you may use two of your attacks to force them to make a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to 8 + Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus). On a failed save, the creature is unconscious. On a successful save, the creature is not unconscious but is still grappled.
  • Block: When an adjacent ally is hit with an attack, you may expend 1 Brawler Point and use your reaction to take the hit instead. The enemy creature uses the original roll to hit, potentially turning it into a miss. As a part of this reaction, you may also make an unarmed attack or force a grapple check against the enemy.

Brawler’s Persistence

At 18th level, you attain the pinnacle of resilience in battle. At the start of each of your turns, you regain hit points equal to 5 + your Constitution modifier if you have no more than half of your hit points left. You don’t gain this benefit if you have 0 hit points.
