Base Class: Sorcerer
The War-Heir gets their powers from Lamarckian evolution. Their ancestors have become so accustomed to battle and strife that their genes have simply grown accustomed to being in combat. The War-Heir can call upon not just the raw magic of their more sorcerous ancestors, but also the martial prowess of those whose expertise lay in those fields.
Channelled Attack
You momentarily channel the skill and prowess of an ancestral warrior. By spending a spell slot of level 1 or higher, you gain Extra Attack for one turn. A maximum of two attacks made with your main-hand weapon are made as if you had proficiency with said weapon, and the ability score used to determine the attack and damage rolls is CHA.
Shieldwall Heir
Your body remembers your ancestors' desperate defenses. You have proficiency with a shield, and can use a shield as an arcane focus. If you have a weapon and a shield equipped, you can use them as you would an empty hand to cast spells with somatic components.
Magic and Muscle
At 6th level, your use of Metamagic is intertwined with your combat abilities. You gain one additional Metamagic option. Furthermore, when you use the Channeled Attack feature, you may affect both attacks with one of the following Metamagic options: Distant Spell, Empowered Spell, Quickened Spell, Twinned Spell, or Seeking Spell. You need to have the selected Metamagic option available, and you must affect both attacks with the same Metamagic option. You only spend the amount needed to affect one spell. You may apply multiple Metamagic options, if the options selected specifically allow for it (like Empowered Spell).
If you selected Quickened Spell, you may use Channelled Attack as an action as well. If you selected Twinned Spell, the cost is 1 Sorcery Point.
Note: I do not know how to add an additional Metamagic option. Keep track of that yourself.
Channelled Warband
At 14th level, fragments of your magic radiate out, empowering your allies with your ancestors' skills as well. Every time you use the Channelled Attack feature, you radiate an aura of knowledge and martial experience; any allied creature within 30ft of you (yourself included) gains a +1 to attack rolls, damage rolls, ability checks, saving throws and AC until the beginning of your next turn. The attack you apply Channelled Attack to to activate this feature is also affected by it.
Heroic Last Stand
At 18th level, you understand how your ancestors survived to pass down their skills. You gain the following benefits:
- When you use Sorcery Points to empower your spells or your Channelled Attack feature, you regain 1d10 HP per Sorcery Point used.
- As a reaction, when your HP is reduced to zero, you can instantly stabilize yourself. You can only take this reaction if you were conscious before getting downed.
- You have advantage on death saving throws.

Posted Jan 31, 2024Errata 1 (I should have read this more thoroughly before posting): Channelled Attack says "a maximum of two attacks" to prevent it from being used alongside extra attacks granted by other features, like Fighter multiclassing. All attacks made with Channelled Attack (six in total, technically, if you combine Quickened and Twinned spell) are made with proficiency and CHA
