Druid
Base Class: Druid

Circle of Crystals druids first arose following the events of the Schism, where they helped tend crystal forests and groves. Now they can be found anywhere where crystals can be found.

Crystalline Form

2nd-level Circle of Crystals feature

As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on a crystalline form, rather than transforming into a beast.

While in your crystalline form, you retain your game statistics, but your body becomes prismatic; your figure melds into a crystalized structure. This form reflects light in a 10-foot radius in addition to that of the original light source and does not reflect dim light. The form lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again.

Whenever you assume your crystalline form, choose which of the following crystal structures you form into; your choice gives you certain benefits while in the form:

Red. You take on the form of a red crystalized structure. When you activate this form, you gain resistance to fire damage. Fire spells you cast deal an additional 1d4 fire damage. This damage increases to 1d6 at 5th level, 1d8 at 11th level, and 1d10 at 17th level.

Blue. You take on the form of a blue crystalized structure. When you activate this form, you gain resistance to cold damage.  Any hostile creature that starts its turn within a 10 foot radius of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, their movement speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. This reduction increases to 15 feet at 5th level, 20 feet at 11th level, and 30 feet at 17th level.

Green. You take on the form of a green crystalized structure. When you activate this form, you gain resistance to bludgeoning damage. You gain a +2 bonus to your Armor Class. You have advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws.

Yellow. You take on the form of a yellow crystalized structure. When you activate this form, you gain resistance to thunder damage. Your base walking speed increases by 10 feet. Your jump distance is doubled. You can walk on vertical surfaces, including walls and ceilings, as if they were horizontal surfaces.

Crystal Attunement

3rd-level Circle of Crystals feature

You’ve attuned to a crystal as part of your crystallographic studies. It is a Tiny object and can serve as a spellcasting focus for your druid spells. You determine its form by rolling on the Crystallography table or by choosing one.

While holding this crystal, you have these benefits:

  • You have proficiency with the arcana skill.
  • You have the absorb elements spell prepared. It counts as a druid spell for you, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can have prepared.
  • You can cast absorb elements without expending a spell slot. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

If you lose the crystal, you can perform a 1-hour ceremony to magically create a replacement. This ceremony can be performed during a short or long rest, and it destroys the previous crystal.

2 A reflective blue crystal
3 A vibrant green crystal
4 A radiant yellow crystal

Sharding Surge

6th-level Circle of Crystals feature

Once per long rest, you can create three Crystalline Infusion crystals. These crystals can be given to allies, and as an action broken to provide both healing and elemental resistance based on their color: 1d6 healing and resistance to either: fire, cold, thunder, or bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing.

Crystal Warding

10th-level Circle of Crystals feature

While in crystalline form, you gain resistance to all types of elemental damage.

Once per long rest, when you take damage that would reduce you to 0 hit points, the Crystal Warding ability automatically triggers, absorbing the incoming energy. Instead of being reduced to 0 hit points, you are reduced to 1 hit point, and the Crystal Aegis is expended.

Moreover, at the start of each of your turns while in your Crystalline Form, you can change which crystal type you take the form of.

Prismatic Resonance

14th-level Circle of the Stars feature

While in your crystalline form, at the start of your turn, if you are below half of your maximum spells slots, you regain a spell slot of the highest level expended. This effect occurs only once per turn. You can also cast spells that deal damage of the type associated with the crystalline form you chose without expending a spell slot, provided the spell is of a level for which you have spell slots. The damage type is determined by the crystal form you chose (fire for Fire Crystal, cold for Water Crystal, etc.). This benefit lasts until the start of your next turn.
