Bard
Base Class: Bard

Magic functions differently in Abeir, often limited to inherent or innate magical abilities. The Bardic College of Chimerism seeks to spread that magic by means of song and intimate coupling. Indeed, the bards empower themselves with new magical abilities by romance or seduction, and have even posited the existence of humanoid-animal crossbreeds (particularly, Satyrs and Centaurs) may be the result of ancient attempts to do the same with more tame mundane beasts.

The bards of the College of Chimerism rarely announce themselves as such, preferring simply to voyage as wandering minstrels, and charm, ravish, romance or seduce as many different species as possible in their itinerant travels. Those who do become known, often try to cultivate an image as a sophisticated academic purveyor of earthly delights, and avoid the mocking or angry accusations of miscegenation, bestial liaisons, or worse. As is often the case with bards by reputation, it is not unusual for a Chimeric bard to be run out of town under threats of violence for dalliances with the wrong persons parent, spouse, betrothed, sibling or offspring.

Language of Lovers

When you join the College of Chimera at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with three additional languages of your choice, as communication is key to courting new romances.

Additionally, you may cast the Tongues spell once without using a spell slot, regaining the ability after you complete a Long Rest. You know the spell and it does not count against the number of Bard spells you know. You may cast it using spell slots, provided you have unused spell slots of at least 3rd level available to you.

Pheromone Expression

Also at 3rd level, you learn how scents trigger emotional reactions, and master your expression of such odors for a variety of purposes. As a bonus action, you expend a bardic inspiration die and exude one such odor, or cause it to be exuded by a creature you touch, adding your bardic inspiration die to all checks involving one Charisma-based skill (Deception, Intimidation, Performance, Persuasion) or Charisma Saving Throws for ten minutes.

Chimeric Imitation

Through the magic of intimate contact and song, you become joined with your partners in a way few others can attempt. Beginning at 3rd level, after spending at least one hour in close physical contact with a creature, you may select one racial feature or ability of that creature, gaining the full use of that ability as though you were a member of that species. If the feature is variable (like selecting a skill, cantrip or specific color/type) the selection must be the same as the creature with which the bard was intimate. In some cases, this may necessitate physical changes (such as growing wings or gills) although some other manifestations of this ability may be much less apparent. The degree to which such changes are visible and may negatively affect a character's other abilities is at the DM's discretion.

Targeted Pheremones

At 6th level, you learn to negatively affect creatures pheromones, causing them to appear untrustworthy, cowardly, or even lose self confidence. As a bonus action, you can touch another creature (attack roll required if it is hostile to you) and cause it to suffer a penalty to one charisma skill (Deception, Intimidation, Performance, Persuasion) or charisma saving throws equal to your Bardic Inspiration die. This effect lasts for one minute. If you succeed in affecting a creature with this feature, it expends one use of your bardic inspiration dice.

Chimeric Transference

Starting at 14th level, your ability to absorb and replicate the innate features of other species has reached its peak. After spending at least one hour in close physical contact with another creature, you can replicate any or all racial abilities of the creature as though you were a member of that species. This will necessitate some degree of physical transformation possibly appearing as a member of that species, or more likely an obvious hybrid form.  If such a creature has age-dependent variables (a dragon, for example), you replicate the features of the youngest possible version of the creature (wyrmling, in this instance) and not a full-adult or more advanced form of the species. This effect lasts until you use the ability again with a member of a different species.
