Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Gunsingers, like their Bladesinger cousins, are wizards who walk the line between the martial and the arcane. Rather than eschew modern technological advances in weaponry, Gunsingers take the lessons of the Bladesingers and apply them to gun fighting. The end result of this synergy are individuals who sling lead as easily as they sling spells, and sometimes, both at once.

Training in Song and Shot

2nd-level Bladesinging feature

You gain proficiency with light armor, and you gain proficiency with firearms.

You also gain proficiency in the tinker’s tools skill if you don’t already have it.

Additionally you can use a firearm as a spellcasting focus.

Gunsong

2nd-level Bladesinging feature

You can invoke a modification of the Bladesong, called the Gunsong, provided that you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield. It graces you with supernatural awareness, arcane avenues, and focus.

You can use a bonus action to start the Gunsong, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, or if you don medium or heavy armor or a shield. You can also dismiss the Gunsong at any time (no action required).

While your Gunsong is active, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain a bonus to attacks made with a firearm equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).
  • You can cast a damage causing cantrips through your firearms (cantrips that have a range of 'touch' gain a range equal to the firearm being used to make the attack)
  • You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.
  • You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Extra Attack

6th-level Bladesinging feature

You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.

Spell Slot Shot

10th-level Gunsinging feature

While your Gunsong is active, you can expend one spell slot and empower a firearms attack with an element of your choice (fire, cold, lightning, thunder, or poison). The damage of the empowered shot is equal the initial damage of the weapon (piercing) plus a number of d10s equal to the level of the spell slot used (chosen element). This feature can only be used on one attack per turn.

Shoot Harder

14th-level Gunsinging feature

You can add your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to the damage of your ranged firearm attacks while your Gunsong is active.
