Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Not all pugilists and practitioners of unarmed combat focus on the disciplined life of martial studies.  Some brutes just like throw down, entranced by a bloody rage revels in the carnage of hand-to-hand combat.  Whether a student of the "sweet science" or just a barroom amateur that enjoys a good ruckus, you chose the Path of a Brawler because you like getting your hands dirty while trading blows with the other guy.  It allows you to release the beast within while testing your limits.  And the occasional extra income helps with getting your teeth and fingers straightened.

Unarmed and Unarmored

When you choose this path at 3rd level and are raging, you gain the following benefits while you are unarmed and you aren’t wearing armor or wielding a shield:

  • You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Strength modifier.
  • You gain proficiency in unarmed strikes, adding your proficiency and Strength modifiers to both attack and damage rolls when not using a weapon.
  • You can roll a d4 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike. This die changes as you gain in barbarian levels; becoming a d6 at level 7, a d8 at level 11, and a d10 at level 16.
