"Malnutrition is more terrifying than any monster." - Senshi, Saint of the Abundant Bowl and Master of Monstrous Cuisine

The nourishment domain is a niche filled only by those who believe that food, above all else, is the key to happiness, the cornerstone of health, the key to all things in the universe. Those who gain the nourishment domain do so from the blessings of a deity that preaches these beliefs, or of any belief that spreads the word of the gathering or provision of food in any form. This domain is often seen as a cast off of the deities who might offer it, given to those whose talents and interests tend towards the ability to feed the faithful, though the faithful are not the only ones with empty stomachs, and that is what makes those who call upon this domain stand apart.

Nourishment Domain clerics believe that food and drink can solve most any problem, whether by the means of acquiring it, preparing it, or distributing it. As such, they do not tend to be evil, but can fall within any alignment. Food is their primary interest, to such a degree that they may not even directly regard a single deity, or any deity at all for that matter, instead calling upon the ancestral arts of cooking and brewing passed down to them and the passion it carries. Those that do worship deities tend to honor many, any associated with crafting, the hearth, family, community, nature, or life play their part in teaching the importance of nutrition and flavor, but those directly associated with food or drink will typically stand above the rest in offerings one of these clerics gives or tenants they follow.

Cooking is a craft, a trade, a passion, and a necessity, which makes it a cornerstone of faith, lifestyle, and the mere act of living. It is for this reason that a cleric of the nourishment domain may not even worship a deity, for the collective fervor, zeal, and overall desire for food and flavor as a universal concept among living creatures can carry the weight of divine power to those who learn to call upon and harness it.

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency in the Wisdom (Survival) and with both brewer's supplies and cook’s utensils.

Blessed Meal

At 1st level, you gain the ability to imbue meals or beverages you create using cook's utensils or brewer's supplies during a short or long rest with the blessing of nourishment, spending at least 1 hour of the rest to prepare and bless these meals. Any time you take a short or long rest, you can bless meals you produce so long as you have adequate supplies to prepare the meals with, or an adequate amount of rations and seasonings with which to bless them. Each creature that consumes one of these meals or beverages and spends at least 1 hit die to regain hit points regains an additional number of hit points equal to your proficiency bonus and reduces their current level of exhaustion by 1 additional level.

You can prepare a number of meals with this blessing equal to 1 + your proficiency bonus + your wisdom modifier, regaining all uses upon completing a long rest.

Channel Divinity: Bountiful Harvest

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to bring forth an instant bounty of harvestable crops.

You conduct an hour-long ritual that floods crops and the soil they are in with life force, causing them to rapidly grow and produce any ingredients they would normally yield. While performing this ritual, you walk a plot of land with crops, herbs, or other such plants. This plot of land can be of an area of square feet equal to 5 times the total of your Class Level + your Charisma Modifier. All plants of your choosing within this area yield a full harvest worth of their produced consumable ingredients, and both the chosen plants and the soil of the walked land in are cured of all diseases and blights that are currently afflicting them.

Additionally, the affected plants are immune to disease and other such blights and repel any insects that would normally feast upon them for one month after the ritual is completed. After a harvest is produced this way, there is a cumulative 10% chance that further attempts to yield a harvest in this way will instantly kill the affected plants each additional time it is attempted until this effect ends + 1 week for each time it has successfully been affected beyond the first.

Divine Chef

Starting at 6th level, you have become a true master of the kitchen, the campfire, and anywhere else food can be found or made. You gain expertise with cook's utensils and brewer's supplies and the ability to treat any cooking utensil or a set of brewer's supplies as a divine spellcasting focus for your cleric spells. You also gain the unique power to create meals imbued with divine magic in every bite.

Divine Cuisine. When cooking a meal, you may choose any spell that does not require a spell attack roll and consume 2 spell slots of a level at which you could cast that spell and all of the material components the spell normally requires. Up to your proficiency bonus worth of individual portions of the prepared meal have the chosen spell applied to them at the lowest level of the spell slots used, and will transfer the effects of the spell to anyone who eats a full portion of the meal. You may use multiple instances of this power on a single meal, but for each instance after the first used on a single meal, you need only consume 1 spell slot of an appropriate level and 1 additional use of this power.

You may use this power a number of times equal to your Wisdom Modifier, regaining all uses after completing a long rest.

Divine Strike

At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with the heat of the kitchen, the force of a meat tenderizer, the finesse of a well-placed skewer, or the precision of a chef's knife. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 fire, bludgeoning, piercing, slashing damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.

Saint of the Abundant Bowl

The abundant bowl, a concept too few can even grasp, the concept of there always being a means to provide more nutrition, more food, and more drink, no matter where you find yourself, and the concept that this excess can always be shared. You have embodied this concept, and it guides your divine power more than even the divine whose gifts allows you to more easily embody it. Beginning at 17th level, your actions have made you a saint of the abundant bowl, granting the dishes and drinks you distribute to grant the following benefits:

  • Any time you use your Blessed Meal or Divine Cuisine powers, you may cause each creature that consumes an affected portion of food or drink to be cured of one instance of charmed, frightened, or poisoned in addition to all other effects it grants.
  • Whenever you finish cooking, you may make a meal call, causing all friendly creatures you choose within 120 feet of you to awaken and know the location of the created food or drink and that it will be delicious. This will end magical sleep effects, as well. You may choose for this to awaken all creatures of a chosen type, instead.
  • All food and brewed beverages you create using cook's utensils or brewer's supplies may be made to grant a number of temporary hit points equal to your Charisma Modifier that last for 4 hours and restore hit points equal to your Wisdom Modifier.
