Base Class: Wizard
Wizards trained as Lodestar guides are given an understanding of the stars beyond that of your average navigator. They study not only the role of the starscape in celestial navigation, but also their history in culture and storytelling. With enough practice they can even begin to harness these stars, calling forth the very essence of the constellations to bolster them, manifesting their meanings into tangible arcane aid.
Stellar Almanac
2nd Level Lodestar Guide Feature
Thanks to your knowledge of the stars, including the history they recount and the destinies they foretell, your spellbook has become a Stellar Almanac. While you are holding the book you gain the following benefits:
- You can use the Almanac as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells.
- The Almanac is usable in place of navigators tools, and for any ability check you make using it in that way you may add your proficiency bonus twice.
- The Almanac allows you to see the stars even faintly during the day time. While the stars are visible to you, you cannot get lost by non-magical means, and always know which way is north.
- Spells copied into the Almanac take half the required time provided they are added into the book under the light of the night sky.
If necessary, you can replace the book over the course of a short rest by writing star maps and constellations within a blank book or a magic spellbook to which you’re attuned. At the end of the rest, the book becomes your new Stellar Almanac. If the previous book still existed somewhere, all the spells vanish from its pages
Conservator of Constellation
2nd Level Lodestar Guide Feature
The stars not only tell of where we may go, but also where we have been. These stories are weaved in the constellations, and to those with the right knowledge and arcane skill they may even lend their prestige. You may choose two of the following constellations:
The End - You gain proficiency in death saving throws
The Hunter - When you score a critical hit with an attack roll or reduce a creature to 0 hit points, as a reaction you may cast a wizard cantrip. You can use your reaction to cast a wizard cantrip if you are normally able to cast a wizard cantrip
The Recluse - You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed.
The Magician - When you deal damage with a spell of 1st level or higher, you may use your bonus action to empower the spell, causing it to ignore any damage resistances.
The Thief - You have advantage on any Dexterity (Stealth) checks you make.
The Steed - When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher you can then immediately take the dash action once as a bonus action.
The Beast - You count as one size larger when determining carrying capacity, lifting, grappling and shoving.
The Spyglass - you have advantage Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, and in clear conditions can make out details from a great distance.
Ever-Shifting Star Scape
6th Level Lodestar Guide Feature
Much like the stars you may wander across an ever-changing sky at night. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can pick two new constellations in place of your current ones. In addition, your stellar almanac can now lend you ancient knowledge told of in the stars. Whenever you finish a long rest you may choose one skill or tool proficiency. Until your next long rest you add a bonus to any checks made with that skill or tool, equal to your Intelligence modifier.

Guiding Star
10th Level Lodestar Guide Feature
You have learned to siphon some of your own magical energy into beckoning forth the essence of a guiding lodestar. You may expend a spell slot of 3rd level or lower to conjure forth the lodestar. The lodestar floats around a creature of your choice and lasts for a number of hours equal to your Intelligence modifier or until dispelled (no action required). The lodestar sheds bright light in a 10 foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, invisible objects and creatures become visible while within the light. The creature wielding the lodestar may also ask it to guide them to a specific place or person on the same plane of existence. The lodestar will guide in the direction of that place or person via the fastest (but not necessarily safest) route, indicating the correct direction by glowing dimmer or brighter. If the specified location or person is not on the same plane of existence or is obscured by anti-divination magic such as that of the spell nondetection the lodestar is unable to locate them and will remain motionless. Whilst the lodestar is possessed by a creature other than you, that creature gains the benefit of one of your currently chosen constellations. That addresses the concerns but it’s a little wordy. What about something like:
You may only have 1 lodestar summoned at a time, if you summon another lodestar the previous one immediately disappears. The lodestar also disappears if it is ever more than 10 ft away from you. For another creature to be affected by the lodestar it must remain in the lodestar’s light. The lodestar counts as a spell of whatever level spell was used to create it.

Starfall
14th Level Lodestar Guide Feature
Your connection to the stars through your Almanac has become beyond potent, to where you can almost wrench the stars to ground. You can use an action to pull forth the essence of the stars, causing a cascade of starlight to fall at a point you can see within 60 feet of you, in a 50 radius, 100 foot high cylinder which lasts for 10 minutes. The area is filled with dim light as motes of starlight fill the space. Creatures and objects within the cylinder cannot become invisible while it remains, and any invisible creatures or objects become visible as soon as the cylinder forms. The abundant starlight within the starfall also empowers your constellations, granting them additional benefits while you are within its radius:
The End - The first time you are reduced to 0 hit points while within the cylinder, you instead drop to 1 hitpoint.
The Hunter - When you deal damage with a wizard cantrip you deal an additional 1d8 force damage.
The Recluse - You become immune to being charmed, frightened, or possessed.
The Magician - Empowering your wizard spells allows you to also treat damage immunities as damage resistances instead.
The Thief - You can hide as a bonus action, and casting a spell while hidden doesn’t reveal your location.
The Steed - Your walking speed increases by 15 feet.
The Beast - Your strength score cannot be lower than 17, and you cannot be knocked prone.
The Spyglass - Attacks made against you cannot be made with advantage, and critical hits against you become normal hits instead.
Once you have used this feature you cannot do so again until you have taken a long rest, or until you expend a spell slot of 5th level or higher to re-use it.
