Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Arcane Slayer represents the epitome of a fighter specialized in countering and neutralizing magic users. This subclass combines martial prowess with a keen intellect, creating a versatile warrior capable of navigating the intricacies of arcane battles.

Disruptive Dice

The Disruptive Dice feature embodies the essence of the Arcane Slayer's mastery in dismantling magical fortifications. With precision strikes and an innate understanding of arcane vulnerabilities, the Arcane Slayer can disrupt a spellcaster's concentration using their Disruptive Dice.

Upon landing a successful weapon attack, the Arcane Slayer can choose to expend a disruptive die, infusing their strike with disruptive energy. The arcane disruption unsettles the magical concentration of their target, imposing disadvantage on the creature's saving throw to maintain concentration. The size of the superiority die represents the potency of this disruption, making it a strategic resource that the Arcane Slayer strategically employs in the midst of combat.

As the Arcane Slayer advances, the Disruptive Dice feature evolves, allowing them to impose more significant penalties on their targets. This versatile ability not only weakens the immediate magical defenses of their foes but also showcases the fighter's adaptability in countering the intricate weavings of arcane power.

You have a number of these dice equal to twice your proficiency bonus. When you reach certain levels in this class, the size of your Disruptive dice increases: starting at 3rd level (d6), at 5th level (d8), 11th level (d10), and 17th level (d12).

Magebane Precision (3rd Level):

  • At 3rd level, the Arcane Slayer gains access to their Disruptive Dice. These special dice, infused with the essence of disruptive magic, become a crucial tool in their arsenal.
  • The Arcane Slayer can expend one Disruptive Die when making a weapon attack against a creature concentrating on a spell or magical effect. The result of the Disruptive Die is added to the DC of the target's concentration saving throw.

Arcane Surge (7th Level):

  • As the Arcane Slayer advances to 7th level, their mastery over disruptive energies allows them to channel additional power through their Disruptive Dice.
  • When expending a Disruptive Die for a Magebane Precision attack, the Arcane Slayer can roll an additional Disruptive Die. Both results are added to the DC of the target's concentration saving throw.

Weave Shredder (10th Level):

  • Upon reaching 10th level, the Arcane Slayer's Disruptive Dice gain the ability to tear through magical defenses.
  • When a Disruptive Die is expended, the target not only faces an increased concentration saving throw DC but also suffers disadvantage on their next saving throw against a spell or magical effect within the next minute.

Ephemeral Interference (15th Level):

  • At 15th level, the Arcane Slayer's Disruptive Dice become even more elusive, manifesting a fleeting interference in the magical weave.
  • When rolling a Disruptive Die for a Magebane Precision attack, the result is treated as an ephemeral effect. For the next round, the concentration saving throw DC remains increased, providing an ongoing challenge for the targeted spellcaster.

Disruption Cascade (18th Level):

  • Upon reaching the pinnacle of their disruptive abilities at 18th level, the Arcane Slayer unlocks the potential for a Disruption Cascade.
  • When expending a Disruptive Die, the Arcane Slayer can choose to roll additional Disruptive Dice, up to a maximum equal to their Intelligence modifier. Each result contributes to the concentration saving throw DC, creating a cascading effect that overwhelms even the most stalwart spellcasters.

Quick Counter

Beginning at 7th level, your quick reflexes allow you to capitalize on openings against spellcasters. When a creature within 5 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature.

Weave Disruption

At 10th level, your strikes have become adept at disrupting the very fabric of magic. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend two superiority dice to impose the Arcane Disruption effect. The target has disadvantage on concentration saving throws and cannot cast spells requiring concentration for 1 minute. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect early on a success.

Spellbane Evasion

Spellbane Evasion: At 15th level, you've become exceptionally skilled at avoiding magical effects. When you are subjected to a spell or magical effect that allows you to make a saving throw to take only half damage, you can use your reaction to instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

Master of Arcane Hunt:

Master of Arcane Hunt: At 18th level, you have become a master in hunting down and disarming magic users. You gain the following benefits:

  • Your Arcane Precision feature now also allows you to add your Intelligence modifier to Dexterity saving throws.
  • When you use your Disruptive Strikes or Weave Disruption features, you can choose to add your Intelligence modifier to the DC of the concentration saving throw.
  • Once per short rest, you can use an action to create an anti-magic field in a 20-foot radius around you for 1 minute.
