Base Class: Barbarian
You begin to follow a path of learning hand to hand combat, throwing away the pathetic tools of war and using only ones own strength. Your fighting style relies on hand to hand brawling using punches, kicks and holds to demolish even the toughest armed combatants, mere swords and shields won't be enough to stop your assault.
Purest Fighting
Beginning at level 3 you choose to specialise in unarmed combat. Starting at level 3 your unarmed strikes deal 1d8 bludgeoning damage, increasing to 1d10 at level 8 and 1d12 at level 14. In addition when you attempt to grapple a creature they have disadvantage on checks made to resist or escape your hold.
No Mercy Fighting
As you become more proficient with this fighting style your grappling becomes evermore dangerous, starting at level 6 any creature that is grappled by you takes maximum damage from your unarmed strikes. In addition to this your unarmed strikes become magical, and you can attempt to grapple creatures that are incorporeal.
Risky Counters
You begin to learn your opponents movements and read their attacks but not perfectly. Starting at 10th level you can attempt to counter your opponents melee weapon attacks. As a reaction, when a creature makes a melee weapon attack against, you may choose to use one of the following abilities.
Far Too Slow. When a creature would hit you with a melee weapon attack you can roll a percentile dice, on a 1-30 you take no damage, on any roll higher than this you take double damage from the attack.
Leg Sweep. When a creature would hit you with a melee weapon attack you can roll a percentile dice, on a 1-30 you knock that creature prone, on any roll higher than this that creature may take an extra attack against you as a bonus action that turn.
Your counter threshold increases to 1-50 at level 13, and 1-75 at level 17.
I Didn't Hear no Bell
Starting at 14th level your unwillingness to lose a fight carries your body onwards beyond its limits. Once per long rest when you would fall unconscious you instead regain all of your hit points and roll a d4, you remain conscious for the number of rounds rolled. At the end of your last turn you fall unconscious, your hit points drop to 0 and you immediately fail two death saves.
