Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Sun Soul learn to channel their life energy into searing bolts of light. They teach that meditation can unlock the ability to unleash the indomitable light shed by the soul of every living creature.

Radiant Sun Bolt

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can hurl searing bolts of magical radiance.

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range equal to your movement speed. You are proficient with it, and you add your Wisdom modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is radiant, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.

When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can use the special attack as a bonus action or spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Searing Arc Strike

At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your ki into searing waves of energy. Immediately after you take the Attack action on your turn, you can spend 2 ki points to channel a wave of blinding light as a bonus action. Each creature in a 15-ft cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. Each creature takes 2d6 radiant damage and becomes blinded until the end of their next turn on a failed save, or takes half damage and doesn't becomes blinded on a successful one.

You can spend 2 ki points to channel this attack to erupt in a 20 ft sphere centered around you dealing an additional 2d6 damage.

Glistening strike

Whenever you make an unarmed attack or use the Radiant Sun Bolt attack you can choose to spend 1 ki point to engulf an enemy hit by this attack in glistening light, giving you advantage on the next attack roll made against this target, or you can spend 2 ki points to try to blind the target of the attack. On a failed DEX saving throw (DC {{savedc:wis}}), they become blinded until the start of your next turn. You can use this feature only once per turn.

Searing Sunburst

At 11th level, you gain the ability to create an orb of light that erupts into a devastating explosion. As an action, you magically create an orb and hurl it at a point you choose within 150 feet, where it erupts into a sphere of radiant light for a brief but deadly instant.

Each creature in that 20-foot-radius sphere must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 2d8 radiant damage. A creature doesn’t need to make the save if the creature is behind total cover that is opaque.

You can increase the sphere’s damage by spending ki points. Each point you spend, to a maximum of 3, increases the damage by 2d6. If you spend at least one ki point, each creature also becomes blinded until the start of your next turn on a failed save, or take half damage on a successful one.

Burning Soul

At 17th level, your mastery of the blazing ki within awakens you to a new level of power. As a bonus action at the cost of 5 ki point, your body undergoes a transformation causing you to become wreathed in a magical, luminous aura for one minute. You take an 1d4 radiant damage at the start of each turn to maintain this transformation. During its use, you gain the following effects:

* You shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. Creatures within 10 feet of you that rely on sight become blinded.

* You have a flying speed equal to your movement speed and you may use your Step of the Wind ability as normal during flight.

* Once on each of your turns that this transformation is active, you may choose to deal an extra 2 martial arts dice of radiant damage to one creature successfully hit by a spell or attack that deals damage. Alternatively, you may deal an additional one martial arts die of radiant damage split between 2 creatures.

* You gain a +2 bonus to your AC.

The transformation ends when you choose not to take 1d4 radiant damage at the start of your turn, or after the minute ends. This feature may only be used once per long rest.
