Bard
Base Class: Bard

Anger, rage, the relentless urge to bash your way through obstacles. Bards of the College of Fury are not afraid of these darker emotions and do their best to use them to their advantage. Music, poetry and performance have often been used to stir up riots because of their strong control over the masses. Enflaming these feelings while keeping them focused is the hard part that takes years to master. But those that do have unlocked a strong tool for themselves and their allies. Encouraged to dig deep within themselves bards of the College of Fury understand these primal reactions and try their best hone and focus them. Protection of yourself and your allies sometimes requires you to get angry. Often this fury is an unstoppable force, but you don't always need to find a way to stop it, if you can find a way to point it at the source of your problems.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Swords at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with heavy armor, greataxes, greatswords, and mauls.

If you’re proficient with a simple or martial melee weapon, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

Fighting Style

At 3rd level, you adopt a style of fighting as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. You can’t take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if something in the game lets you choose again.

Defense

While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.

Great Weapon Fighting

When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are wielding with two hands, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit.

Unarmed Fighting

Your unarmed strikes can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier on a hit. If you aren’t wielding any weapons or a shield when you make the attack roll, the d6 becomes a d8.

At the start of each of your turns, you can deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage to one creature grappled by you.

Resistance and Retaliation

Also at level 3, you gain the ability to shrug off damage and reflect it at your enemies. As a reaction to taking damage, you or an ally may spend a bardic inspiration dice. Until the end of their next turn, this grants resistance to the damage type taken, and the next time they hit an enemy with a melee attack they may roll the bardic inspiration dice and deal that much damage, of the resisted type.

Relenentless Assault

Additionally at 3rd level, whenever you target an enemy with a spell or attack on your turn, you make an unarmed strike against the same target as a bonus action.

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Seeing Red

At 6th level, using rage's ability to focus the mind, you may use a bonus action to start your Countercharm performance. However, maintaining the performance requires concentration.

Unending Fury

Starting at 14th level, when you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you may spend a bardic inspiration dice. Until the end of your next turn, you gain advantage on all attack rolls and saving throws. You may also roll your bardic inspiration dice and add the result to the damage of spells or attack during this turn.
