Base Class: Barbarian
Battle is a dance, and barbarians who follow the Path of the Warchanter have no shortage of partners. These passionate brigands find all manner of joy, inspiration, and even art, in the midst of a fight and the pumping of blood. Capable of spurring those beside them to inhuman levels of ferocity simply with their voices and dances, adherents of this school of combat are often found among warlike clans, often as chieftains or other forms of authority.
Be they masters of ancient ceremonial battle dances, warrior poets extolling the deeds of honored fallen, or simply bellowing lunatics, these forceful fighters believe any brush with death is best done as loudly and gloriously as possible.
Howling Mantra
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with one of the following skills of your choice: Intimidation, Performance, or Survival.
Additionally, when you enter your rage, you can release a bone-chilling shout. Up to 3 enemies within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom save (DC = 8 + your proficiency modifier + you Constitution modifier) or be frightened of you.
Frightened enemies may re-attempt the saving throw at the end of their turns.
Blood-Soaked Drums
Additionally, at 3rd level, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack while raging, the sight and sound awes and inspires those close to you. You may choose a creature within 30 feet of you to add you rage damage bonus to their next attack roll or saving throw.
If they choose the attack roll and hit, the attack deals additional thunder damage equal to your rage bonus. If they choose the saving throw and succeed, they heal a number of hit points equal to your rage damage bonus.
You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all uses upon finishing a long rest.
Furious Dance
Beginning at 6th level, the bone-shaking rhythm of your strikes and bellows turn the blood of your allies to fire. When you take the Attack action, you may choose to forgo one attack. If you do, up to 3 allies within 30 feet of you can immediately make one opportunity attack as a reaction. Forgoing an attack in this way counts as attacking a hostile creature for the purposes of maintaining your rage.
You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus plus your Constitution modifier, and regain all uses upon finishing a long rest.
Skullrattler
At 10th level, the music of carnage suffuses your very soul, and you have the perfect creative outlet. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, the attack deals an extra 1d10 thunder damage. If the target is frightened of you, it also has disadvantage on saving throws until the end of its next turn.
Roar at the Reaper
Once you have reached level 14, as either an action whilst you are below 50% of your max HP, or as a reaction when an ally within 30 feet of you falls to 0 HP, you may issue a bellowing challenge to death itself.
Upon entering this state, up to six creatures other than you within 60 feet immediately regain the sum of your rage damage bonus, Strength, and Constitution modifiers in HP, and can immediately gain the benefits of Furious Dance
While this state persists, creatures affected gain 1d12 temporary HP at the beginning of each of their turns, and may choose to also gain the benefits of your Rage and Reckless Attack features for the duration of their turn. When used in this way, a Reckless Attack does not need to be made with melee attacks using Strength.
This state lasts until the end of your next turn, unless you forgo an attack as part of the Attack action to extend its duration for another round. Forgoing an attack in this way counts as attacking a hostile creature for the purposes of maintaining your rage.
Once you exit this state, you gain two levels of exhaustion, and cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
