Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

You use old and powerful methods to manipulate the weave that were created at the dawn of magic itself by the ancient dragons. Casters and scholars may look upon your manipulations as crude and simplistic, but it is exactly that simplicity which draws out the full capacity of magic.

Runic Imbuement

When casting a levelled spell you may imbue it into an object or yourself. The imbued object retains the spell until used twice (activated as a bonus action or on a hit, only once per turn), or until 2 days pass.
The effect of the spell (e.g damage dice, etc) is decided upon casting of the spell, not subsequent activations.

To imbue one of the following runes you must expend a spell slot of the same level or higher than the spell cast.
Kreta- The level the spell is cast at increases by one
Xoro- The range and area of effect of the spell are doubled
Kronis- The duration of the spell is doubled
Sesis- The saving throw against the spell increases by 5
Percta- The spell ignores resistances. If a target is immune, they are instead considered resistant
Fractas- The spell splits into multiple pieces of diminished power, each able to seek a different target. The effect of the spell is split as desired among the pieces. If the spell does not have a numerical effect the DM will decide how the split functions before casting and if it can be split at all.

To engrave one of the following runes you must expend 2 spell slots of the same level or higher than the spell cast.
Sectasis- The target of the spell automatically fails the saving throw against it. This is overcome by legendary resistances.
Kortena- The range and area of effect halves, but the it's effect doubles
Pretoris- The duration of the spell's imbuement increases by 2 uses, or 2 days.

You may engrave as many runes (including repeating the same rune) to the spell as you want as long as you have the spell slots to do so. However, for each additional rune past 2, roll a d8. On a 1, the spell fails and you do not regain the spell slots consumed.

When all uses of the imbued spell are consumed, roll a d10 for each rune that was engraved. If any roll a 1, the imbued item is destroyed.

To imbue a spell into yourself, additional conditions must be met.
First, imbue a knife with the desired spell and runes, then another person must carve a design into you which co rains the spell. This process inscribed the spell upon your soul permanently, and the consumed spell slots can only be obtained after resting for a full day.
Only two spells can be inscribed upon your soul at one time, retaining any runic modifications.
Soul-inscribed spells can be used twice per long rest when you gain this feature at level 2. At level 11 this feature can be used 3 times, and 4 times at level 17.

In order to change which spells are inscribed upon your soul, a cost is to be decided by the DM and a dice roll, dependent on the relative economy of your campaign.

Sacrificial Spell

Instead of a spell slot, you can instead sacrifice your life force to cast a spell. You take damage equal to 5 x the spells level, up to 6th level. To cast a spell of 7th level or above you must sacrifice hp equal to 10 x the spell level. The spell is upcasted to the highest level you are able to cast (e.g at level 7 if you cast a 2nd level spell for 10hp, it will be upcast to 4th level). Other features that consume spell slots can be supplemented with Sacrificial Spell as well.

Disruption field

As an action you can twist the weave directly and disrupt all magic within 120 feet for 3 rounds. For the duration nobody except you can cast spells, and all your spells cost twice their usual spell slots. You can do this once per short rest.

Arcane Multiplication

Upon casting a levelled spell, you can consume a spell slot of the next level to clone it. You can repeat this as many times as you want as long as you have the spell slots. (e.g you can clone a second level spell for a third level spell slot. To clone those 2 you expend a fourth level spell slot, and to clone those 4 you expend a 5th level spell slot, etc), however, when multiplying more than twice the spell becomes unstable and a d10 must be rolled on each additional multiplication. On a 3 or below, the spell fails and you do not regain the spell slots. Any modifications to the original spell (such as Dragon's Tongue's command words) affect the cloned spells as well. Cloned spells can have different targets than the original.

Dragon's Tongue

Gather- The spell is withheld until you release it as a bonus action. While it is withheld if another spell passes within 20 feet of you, it's caster must succeed a contested arcana check against you or the spell is consumed by yours (if desired). Each time a spell is consumed the withheld spell takes on it's effect and is upcast by the consumed spell's level (rounded down). This requires concentration, and other spells (excluding cantrips) cannot be cast while withholding a spell.
