Monk
Base Class: Monk

You have trained relentlessly to learn how to best dismantle an opponent. You have studied the different weak points of your opponents, and you know not just how to take them down, but how to control their every movement while doing this. Your knowledge of takedowns, choke holds, pressure points, and limb locks have made you a truly fearsome opponent.

Systematic Technique

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your body's ki in order to channel it's power in devastating feats of athletics. You may choose to use your Wisdom bonus instead of your Strength for Athletics checks. You also gain the ability to channel your ki into powerful techniques. If you are not wielding any weapons or shield, when you replace an attack roll with an Athletics check to Grapple and successfully grapple your target OR when you hit an unarmed strike attack against a creature grappled by you, you may attempt a Systematic technique. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. While you have no uses available, you can spend 1 ki points to use this feature again. You only use the feature if it succeeds.
  • Takedown : You swiftly bring your opponent to the ground in a thunderous takedown. Make a contested grapple check against a creature grappled by you that is not prone. If you are successful, roll two times your Martial Arts die. The target takes the total plus its Strength bonus in Bludgeoning damage. You may then move the target to any point within your reach. The target is knocked prone.
  • Limb Lock : You bend your opponent's limbs and reduce their combat effectiveness for a moment. Make a contested grapple check against a creature grappled by you. If you are successful, the target is forced to drop whatever it is holding in its limb. You may choose the targeted limb when you attempt the lock. If the target is also prone, roll two times your Martial Arts die. The target takes the total in Bludgeoning damage.
  • Throw : Using deep knowledge of combat balance, you throw your enemy away. Make a contested grapple check against a creature grappled by you. If you are successful, the target is moved up to 20 feet in any direction. If they are any creatures or object of the same size or smaller on its path, they and the target take bludgeoning damage equal to your martial arts die (roll for each affected creature). If the target moves to a object of a significantly higher weight or size (like a wall or a bigger creature) it stops its movement. The target is knocked prone where it lands and is no longer grappled.

  • Choke : By focusing your chi in your fingers, you press vulnerable points and send ki discharges in your opponent like heart, kidneys or throat. Make a contested grapple check against a creature grappled by you. If you are successful, the target is unable to speak or use the verbal component for spell and takes bludgeoning damage equal to your martial die roll at the end of each of its turn. Using another Systemic technique or breaking the grapple stops this effect. Until the end of your next turn, if the creature succeeds in breaking your grapple, it breaks the choke effect instead and remains grappled. It can then attempt to break the grapple as normal.

Systematic grappling

At 6th level, your ki within your body allows you move at full speed when grappling an opponent. Additionally, you have advantage on grappling contests with creatures Medium size or smaller.

Systematic Destiny

At 11th level Your mastery of ki flows vibrates through your skin, dramatically increasing your physical prowess. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for Athletics (this does not stack with Expertise). Additionally, when you roll a 20 on a grappling check on a creature, the next contested grapple checks of your systematic Techniques on this creature is automatically successful.

Additionally, your ki-empowered strike also transfer this sense of density to everything you touch, even ghosts. You remove the immunities to the grappled, restrained and prone condition of creatures in your reach.

You gain the additional Systematic Technique.

  • Shield : You manipulate one of your enemy to use him as a shield against an attack. Make a contested grapple check against a creature grappled by you. If you are successful, you can move the character to a free space within your reach. If it was prone, it is now up on its feet. Until the end of your next turn, when you make a Dexterity saving throw or are hit by an attack, you can use your Reaction to have the target suffer the damage instead. If it kills the target, you are dealt the excess damage.

Hammer of the Homeland

At 17th level, your mastery of the Systematic technique is so advanced your flesh begins to blend seamlessly with ki. When you use an Systematic Technique, you can spend an additional Ki Point to empower your technique.

  • Empowered Takedown : If your contested grapple check is successful, your martial arts die are considered D20 for this technique

  • Empowered Limb Lock : If your contested grapple check is successful, the creature cannot use the targeted limb effectively until it finishes a short rest. This can reduce its speed and/or its ability to use weapons according to your GM.

  • Empowered Throw : If your contested grapple check is successful, the range of the throw is increased to 60 feet and the damage done by this technique is increased by your Dexterity bonus

  • Empowered Choke : If your contested grapple check is successful, the creature is considered restrained and cannot use the somatic components of spells while it is grappled by you until the end of your next turn

  • Empowered Shield : If your contested grapple check is successful, you gain +3 to your AC until the end of your next turn or until the grapple ends

Additionally, you can use the ki in you to increase your size and power. As an Action, you can spend 3 ki points to use this ability. You immediately cast the Enlarge spell on yourself without using a spell slot and you gain resistance to all slashing, piercing and bludgeoning damage while under the effect of this ability.
