Druid
Base Class: Druid

The Circle of Scales is for those druids who view dragons as just as important to the natural order as any other creature. They seek to harness or imitate the dragons' power, either out of reverence or pragmatism. These druids might vary from devoted worshippers of dragons, to passive observers detailing the dragons' behaviors.

Draconic Wild Shape

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you gain the ability to use Wild Shape on your turn as a bonus action, rather than as an action.

Additionally, while you are transformed by Wild Shape, when you take damage from the following damage types; acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison, you may use a reaction to gain resistance against the triggering damage type until the start of your next turn.

Circle Forms

The rites of your circle grant you the ability to transform into the most feared creature in all the realms. Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Wild Shape to transform into a dragon with a challenge rating as high as 1. You ignore the Max. CR column of the Beast Shapes table, but if your dragon form has a flying or swimming speed you wouldn't normally be able to use, you cannot use that speed.

Starting at 6th level, you can transform into a dragon with a challenge rating as high as your druid level divided by 3, rounded down.

Draconic Aspects

At 6th level, your wild shape can take on more abilities of dragons. While transformed by wild shape, you may use a bonus action on your turn to expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to embody the power of one of the following kinds of dragon:

  • Chromatic. Until the start of your next turn, all attacks you make deal an additional 1d6 acid, cold, fire, lightning, or poison damage. Additionally, you may choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you, equal to the level of spell slot expended. These creatures must succeed on a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become frightened of you until the start of your next turn.
  • Metallic. Until the start of your next turn, you gain temporary hit points equal to 10 x the level of spell slot expended. Additionally, you have advantage on the next saving throw you make before the start of your next turn.
  • Gem. You may teleport a number of feet equal to 10 x the level of spell slot expended, once during your turn.

Hardened Scales

By 10th level, you have learned to use draconic power to alter the physical forms of of yourself and others to protect them from harm. You can cast the Barkskin spell at will.

Wyrmshifter

Starting at 14th level, you can expend two uses of Wild Shape to transform into a Druidic Dragon. When you do so, choose a type of dragon from the Draconic Essence table. Your breath weapon, damage immunity, and scale color while transformed are determined by the dragon's type, as shown in the table.
