Base Class: Monk
The Way of Firearms Monk is a fusion of ancient martial arts mastery and modern firearm proficiency. Their training emphasizes seamless transitions between unarmed strikes and precise gunplay. With lightning-fast reflexes, they excel in close-quarters combat, delivering devastating blows while unleashing a hail of bullets. Each movement is a testament to their agility and precision, striking with lethal efficiency. In their hands, firearms become extensions of their martial prowess, allowing them to uphold justice with deadly accuracy.
Gun-Fu
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, if your Dungeon Master uses the rules on firearms in the Dungeon Master's Guide and your monk has been exposed to the operation of such weapons, your monk is proficient with them and can use them as a monk weapon. When using firearms, being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your firearm’s ranged attack rolls.
Additionally, when a hostile creature provokes an opportunity attack from you, you can use your ranged monk weapons to make a ranged weapon attack against the creature instead.
Hail of Bullets
At 6th level, when using your Flurry of Blows feature, you may make two ranged firearm attacks as a bonus action instead of unarmed strikes.
Additionally, you ignore the two-handed property of firearms. When you take the Attack action and attack, you can use a bonus action to make a ranged attack with a light ranged weapon that you’re holding in the other hand. You don’t add your ability modifier to the damage of the bonus attack, unless that modifier is negative.
Run and Gun
Beginning at 11th level, you center your mind during battle, allowing you to evade attacks with ease. When you hit a creature with your firearm or an unarmed strike, you can take the Disengage action as part of the same attack.
Additionally, you learn to attack with such finesse that you can turn a miss into another blow. When you miss a weapon attack using a firearm, you can use your reaction to spend 1 ki point to make an unarmed strike as part of the same action. While attacking in this way, you cannot perform a Stunning Strike.
Ricochet Parry
At 17th level, your mastery over martial combat and inner focus allows you to manipulate projectiles with unparalleled precision. While wielding a ranged monk weapon, when a creature within 120 feet of you is targeted by a ranged weapon attack, you can use your reaction to fire that weapon and deflect the attack. Alternatively, you can spend 3 ki points to use this ability without using your reaction.
When you do so, reduce the damage of the attack by an amount equal to a roll of your weapon's damage plus your Monk level. If the damage is reduced to 0, you can choose up to 2 creatures within 60 feet of the original target to make a Dexterity saving throw or take the same amount of damage you reduced, half on a success.
