Base Class: Monk
You've spent years honing and perfecting your body to reach top speeds. By channeling your ki, you've been able to surpass what even top warriors are able to do. You are faster than almost everyone using this speed to perform extremely brutal and impactful moves. You must take a running start but once you've gotten going, you can't be stopped.
Things in Motion
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you replace Flurry of Blows with this feature:
Harness Momentum. When you aren't within a threatened space, each 10 ft of movement taken during your turn grants you 1 momentum charge. You lose all momentum charges at the end of your turn.
Before you roll to attack, you may choose to expend a ki point to gain one of the following effects:
- Consume all momentum charges, this attack deals an extra 1d4 force damage for every charge consumed this way.
- Consume all momentum charges, your movement speed increases by 5 ft of movement this turn for every charge consumed this way.
- Consume all momentum charges, increase your AC for every 2 charges consumed this way.
Body's Tempo
At 6th level, you gain the ability to channel your speed through your body. Choose one of the following Tempos:
Friction Tempo
You've learned to channel your speed into your soul. If you have more than 3 momentum charges, you gain the following effect: When you move within 5 feet of a creature or an object that isn’t being worn or carried, it takes 1d6 fire damage from your trail of heat. A creature or object can take this damage only once during a turn.
Restorative Tempo
You've learned to channel your speed into your heart. Once per long rest you can, as an action, gain this effect for 2 rounds: Whenever you gain a charge of momentum, you heal 1 damage.
Skimming Tempo
After studying reptilian life, you've learned to emulate them and change your gait and increase your speed to allow yourself to walk on water. Your movement speed is increased by 10 ft.
If you have 3 or more momentum charges, you gain the effects of the Waterwalking spell.
Vitalizing Tempo
You've learned to channel your speed back into your legs, your movement speed is increased by 20ft.
Elevated Momentum
Beginning at 11th level, you've honed your body and mind to handle much more ki infused momentum. Whenever you gain a momentum charge, you gain an extra one.
Perfect Kinetic Transference
At 17th level, you gain perfect momentum conversion and can exchange ki points and momentum charges as a bonus action. When you hit a creature with a melee attack you can spend 2 ki points send them flying backwards dealing 5d10 bludgeoning damage and 5d10 force damage if they collide with another creature or object.
