Base Class: Rogue
You've lived a tough life out in the void, scrabbling for scraps just to get by. But that's made you tough. That's made you smart. And you've gotten really, really good at scrabbling for scraps.
“Hey now, give up the goods before anyone else gets hurt. Haven’t you ever heard of a little thing called Finders’ Keepers?”
Breakdown
When you take this archetype at 3rd level, you receive a Scrapper's Kit and proficiency with its use, using your Dexterity for ability checks with it when required. The Scrapper's Kit allows you to use your action to make a melee weapon attack against an object or vehicle, dealing 1d6 + Dexterity piercing damage and automatically triggering your sneak attack against the target.
Your Scrapper's Kit can also be used to break down raw materials into a determined value of scrap. Scrap can be used in place of gold when crafting items, or it can be sold to vendors for half the value in gold. Breaking down materials into scrap in this way takes 1d20 minutes. Once you've used your Scrapper's Tools for this purpose, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use them this way again.
Use the table below to determine what value of scrap you receive from breaking down the raw materials. The value is influenced by the size of the raw materials or by the DM's discretion, whichever is easier.
At the DM's discretion, you can break down the corpses of creatures with your Scrapper's Kit as well. If the creature had legendary actions, lair actions, legendary resistances, or boss actions, multiply the scrap earned by 10.
Sabotage
Starting at 9th level, you have resistance to damage you receive from vehicles.
Additionally, when you damage a vehicle with your Scrapper's Kit, you can force the vehicle to make a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, you choose one of the following effects, which lasts until the start of your next turn.
•
The vehicle's speed is reduced to 0.
•
The pilot cannot take actions for the vehicle.
•
The vehicle's weapons are disabled.
•
The vehicle cannot regain hit points.
Once a vehicle is under one of these effects, it can't be under another effect from the Sabotage feature (even from other scrappers) until the first effect ends.
Master Crafter
Additionally at 9th level, you improve the speed at which you can craft items. The time it takes for you is reduced by a factor of 10.
Siege Breaker
Beginning at 13th level, you deal double damage to objects, structures, and vehicles.
Only the Best Bits
Also beginning at 13th level, you double the amount of scrap you gain from using your Scrapper's Kit.
Scuttler Notoriety
Starting at 17th level, when you damage a vehicle with your Scrapper's Kit, it is considered to be a critical hit. Additionally, its occupants become frightened of you until the start of your next turn.
