Base Class: Monk
The Warrior of Discipline and Instinct is a monk who seamlessly integrates the essence of animals into their disciplined fighting style. Drawing inspiration from the animal kingdom, they emulate the forms and instincts of various creatures to enhance their combat prowess. Whether replicating the quick movements of a simian or the overwhelming ferocity of a tiger, these monks masterfully mimic the strengths and agility found in nature. To further your training you have built a connection to animal life in search of wisdom of many species. You learn the speak with animals spell and can cast it without the use of a spell slot.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.
Warrior's Discipline
3rd-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
You reflect on the fighting style of a beast and learn to harness it for yourself. At your option, you also gain minor physical attributes that are reminiscent of your the chosen beast. For example, if you reflect the lunging reach of a snake you may gain a forked tongue, snakelike eyes or scales around your knuckles or if you were to copy the ferocious onslaught of a tiger your skin may become striped in a similar pattern or you could grow ears or whiskers reminiscent of one.
You can change your chosen option on a long or short rest.
Crane
3rd-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
You use sweeping motions like the wings of a crane to strike multiple foes at once. When you hit a creature that is no more than one size larger than you with an unarmed strike you can spend one Discipline Point to make the creature fall prone fall prone.
Mantis
3rd-level Warrior of discipline and Instinct feature
Striking like a Mantis you aim with precision at your opponents vital spots. When you hit a creature using an unarmed strike or you can spend 1 Discipline Point to turn the attack into a critical hit.
Monkey
3rd-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Like a simian, you can dance around your opponent as they struggle to even graze you. When you use your Flurry of Blows feature you can take the Dodge action as part of the same bonus action.
Snake
3rd-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Like when a viper lunges towards its foe you strike with great intensity. Your ranges with melee weapon attacks increases by 5 feet and you can use weapon attacks in place of unarmed strikes when you use Flurry of Blows.
Tiger
3rd-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
You strike continuously like a mighty tiger. Each time you use Flurry of Blows you can make one additional unarmed strike as part of the same bonus action.
Beast's Instinct
6th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
You reflect further on the brutality of nature and how to adapt it into a more disciplined form. You can copy the fighting styles of beasts in additional ways. You can choose to copy two different beasts' fighting styles or one beast's fighting style in two different ways.
Crane
6th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Like a cranes swooping wing you are agile and you can use this against your foes. Each time you make an unarmed strike you can target to creature within your reach instead of one.
Mantis
6th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Like a mantis you can control the flow of battle, grappling opponents deflecting their attacks and following up with devastating force. As a reaction to being targeted my a melee attack by a creature no more than one size larger than you you can use your reaction to attempt to Grapple the creature. Whilst you are grappling a creature they have disadvantage on attack rolls against you and you have advantage on attack rolls against them.
Monkey
6th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Using unorthodox movements like that of a monkey you can always at least partially dodge any physical attack. When you take the Dodge action you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage until the start of your next turn.
Snake
6th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Your strikes are utilised to force an enemy to keep their distance. Your reach with melee weapons increases by 5 feet and when you hit an opponent with an attack you can spend on ki point to reduce their movement speed to 0 until the end of their next turn.
Tiger
6th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Your Ferocious Tiger strikes come naturally to you now. When you take the Attack action on your turn you can spend one Discipline Point to be able to make an additional unarmed strike as part of the same action.
Adaptive Stances
11th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
You can adapt to each combat to look for the method you need to come out on top, switching from prey to predator. You can change your chosen options from this subclass using a bonus action.
You can use this feature an amount of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once) per long rest.
Dragon Style
17th-level Warrior of Discipline and Instinct feature
Mere beasts no longer have the power you wish to embody. Instead you are able to conjure within yourself a more draconic strength. Immediately before you roll initiative, you can use your reaction and spend up to 3 Discipline points to enter a stance like that of a dragon for one minute. Whilst in this stance your unarmed strikes have a magical bonus to hit equal to the amount of Discipline Points you spent when entering the stance and can deal acid, cold, fire, ice or poison damage instead of their usual damage type. Alternately, you can increase your AC by the amount of Discipline Points you spent when using this feature and can resistance to acid, cold, fire, ice and poison damage for the duration.
