Base Class: Fighter
Truly wise adventurers are always wary of unarmed opponents, for such adversaries are usually more than they seem. Such an opponent might even be a wrestler—the worst nightmare of a character who depends on weapon skills to win. Anyone who dares to wield a weapon against a wrestler had better make use of it quickly, because the opportunity won’t last long.
Wrestlers are the back-breakers, the limb-twisters, and the neck-snappers among pit fighters. Grapplers of the highest order, they wear nothing heavier than light armor in combat to maximize their flexibility, and they use no weapons to achieve their gruesome victories, for they prefer the intimacy of a barehanded kill. A wrestler wants to be close enough to taunt his opponent with whispers while crushing the life out of it, to smell its fear, and to watch the despair creep over its face when the opponent realizes just how useless its weapons are during a grapple.
Adept Wrestling
3rd-level Wrestler feature
You gain the following benefits:
- You can use a bonus action to try to shove or disarm one creature that you have grappled.
- When you successfully shove a creature, you can choose to push the creature a number of feet equal to five times your Strength modifier (minimum of 5 feet).
- When a hostile creature's movement provokes an opportunity attack from you, you can use your reaction to try to grapple the creature, rather than making an opportunity attack.
Endurance Training
3rd-level Wrestler feature
You gain proficiency in Athletics. If you are already proficient, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make to grapple a creature, or to escape from a grapple. In addition, you have advantage on Constitution saving throws to avoid exhaustion.
Close-Quarters Fighting
7th-level Wrestler feature
When you have a creature grappled and have a free hand, you can make a Strength (Athletics) check opposed by the creature's Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. If you succeed, the target is restrained until the grapple ends or until you no longer have a free hand. If you take the Attack action, you can replace one of your attacks with this action.
Body Shield
10th-level Wrestler feature
Whenever you are grappling a creature you have half cover against attacks and effects from creatures you don't have grappled. Additionally, when a hostile creature misses you with an attack, you can use your reaction to force that creature to repeat the same attack against a creature of your choice (other than itself) that you have grappled.
Submission
15th-level Wrestler feature
As an action you can force one creature you have grappled to make a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, the target falls unconscious for one minute. The creature wakes up if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it awake.
Titan's Grip
18th-level Wrestler feature
You can grapple and shove creatures up to two sizes larger than you, and your speed is not halved when you are grappling a creature up to one size larger than you. Additionally, you count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
