Base Class: Monk
Some monks train to improve their bodies, to overcome their physical limitations and become weapons of flesh and bone. Monks of the Way of the Gentle Soul choose to take a more spiritual path. Monks of this way train their mind and spirit to become stronger, allowing them to see and effect the ki and spirits of others. Most famously however, monks of this way learn how to separate their spirit from their body. Masters of this way have even been known to separate the souls of others from their bodies. Despite this power, this way is ultimately known to be a pacifistic way, opting to avoid conflict whenever possible.
Spirit Clone
Starting when you choose this way at 3rd level, you can create a clone of yourself. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to conjure this clone in a space within 30ft of you. This clone looks like you, but obviously made of energy as it shines and glimmers with an aura of life. Your clone shares your initiative and you can give your clone commands telepathically.
Your clone has hit points equal to half of your hit points and cannot attack or cast spells. It can take other actions however, such as the Help or Grapple actions, as well as use your monk abilities that don't deal damage. Your clone disappears when it is reduced to 0 hit points, when it moves over 100ft away from you, or when you dismiss it as a free action. When your clone is reduced to 0 hit points, any leftover damage that would have been dealt to the clone is transferred to you. You can only have one clone active at a time, and it lasts for 1 minute.
You can create 2 clones and can have 2 clones active at a time starting at 8th level, and can create and have 3 clones at 16th level.
Spirit Sense
Starting at 6th level, you learn how to see past the physical, and look into the spiritual of all of those around you. By spending 1 ki point, you can see the aura of creatures within 60ft of you for 1 minute. For the duration, you can tell the alignment and creature type of a creature you can see. You don't learn either of these if the creature has any protection from divination magic.
Healing Ki
Starting at 11th level, you learn how to manipulate the ki of others to aid them and rid them of harmful effects. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to touch a willing and cure them of one of the following conditions: blinded, charmed, deafened, frightened, paralyzed, or poisoned. Additionally, you can spend a number of ki points to touch and ally. That ally can use a number of hit dice equal to the amount of ki spent to recover hit points.
Gentle Palm of Passing
Starting at 17th level, you gain the ability to strike a creature and force their spirit to leave their body. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 5 ki points to force the creature to make a Charisma saving throw against your Ki save DC. The target automatically succeeds on the save if they are undead or do not have a soul. On a successful save, the target takes 5d10 necrotic damage. On a failed save, the target becomes unconscious as their soul is expelled from their body into a space within 5ft of their body on the etherial plane. While a targets soul is out of their body, they are affected by the etherealness spell. On each of the creatures turn, they can spend their action to repeat the saving throw to attempt to return to their body, ending the effect on a success. They may also make the save any time their body takes damage. You may also allow the creature to return to their body without making the saving throw.
