Monk
Base Class: Monk

Born from a cataclysmic surge of cursed time, this technique allows its user to harness fractured moments—shards of the past and echoes of futures that never came to pass. With intense spiritual focus and an iron-clad connection to the flow of time, the user doesn't command time itself but bends their presence within it—rewinding damage, glimpsing threats before they strike, and existing in the stillness between seconds. Their cursed energy pulses like a ticking heartbeat, syncing body and soul with the rhythms of fate.

As they master this technique, they unlock the ultimate expression of temporal awareness—Fated Return—a ritual that allows them to reach through the fold of time and return, briefly or permanently, to the moment they were torn from. But such power comes at a cost: reality remembers every wrinkle, and time does not forgive those who tamper with its threads.

Lv. 20 – Fated Return

"The moment you left never stopped waiting for you."

  • Ritual Activation: By spending 10 Focus Points and performing a 1-minute cursed ritual, you may:

    • Return to your original time in 2024 for up to 1 hour in real time.

    • During this time, your soul remains tethered to the Heian Era. If you die in 2024, you instead return to the past at 1 HP—but the bond is weakened (DM determines consequences).

  • Alternative Option (One-Time Only): Permanently return to 2024, ending the adventure in the Heian Era and triggering a major campaign shift (or epilogue).

  • Side Effect: The rift left behind may allow a piece of future tech, an ally, or even a curse to pass between timelines.

The cherry blossoms of Heian vanish. Neon returns. But so do the scars.

Lv. 3 – Echo Step

Echo Step

"Your body remembers where it was, even when your mind does not."

  • Feature: When you take damage, you can use your reaction and spend 2 Focus Points to rewind your physical state by 6 seconds.

  • Effect: You teleport to the position you occupied at the end of your last turn. You also revert your HP and condition to what it was at that time (if it was higher).

  • Limit: Usable once per short rest, or more times at the cost of 5 Focus Points per extra use.

Lv. 6 – Premonition Pulse

Premonition Pulse

"The world slows, the breath aligns, the strike reveals itself before it lands."

  • Feature: You may activate Premonition Pulse by spending 3 Focus Points as a bonus action.

  • Effect: For 1 minute:

    • You gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws.

    • You may add your Wisdom modifier to Initiative.

    • Once per round, you may impose disadvantage on an attack roll against you as a reaction.

Lv. 11 – Stillness in Motion

Stillness in Motion

"All movement begins in stillness. All stillness contains movement."

  • Feature: You may enter a Temporal Meditative State using 4 Focus Points as an action.

  • Effect: For 3 rounds:

    • Your movement speed doubles.

    • You disengage automatically at the start of your turn.

    • Attacks against you are made at disadvantage unless the attacker also has access to time manipulation (DM’s discretion).

    • You can pass through other creatures as difficult terrain.

Lv. 17 – Karma Lock

Karma Lock

"Time is a closed loop. Pain given, pain returned."

  • Feature: As a bonus action, spend 6 Focus Points to mark a creature with a Karma Sigil (visible only to those attuned to cursed energy).

  • Duration: 24 hours.

  • Effect: The next time that target deals damage to you or an ally, they immediately suffer half the damage they dealt as psychic damage, and are stunned until the end of their next turn.

  • This mark can only be active on one creature at a time.
