In the sprawling chronicles of the realms, the tale of the Phoenix Knight, known as Ignissoul, is one whispered with awe in the hushed tones of campfires and sung boldly in the halls of the valorous. Born from a pact sealed in the flickering shadows of demise and rebirth, the Phoenix Knight embodies the cycle of destruction and resurgence that defines the mythical phoenix itself.

The legend began with a warrior on the brink of death, fallen on a battlefield that had become a pyre for the fallen. As the warrior's lifeblood ebbed away, a phoenix, radiant and majestic, descended from the skies. Moved by the warrior's indomitable spirit and unwillingness to yield, the phoenix offered a choice: accept oblivion or embrace a new destiny as a guardian of fire and life.

Choosing the latter, the warrior was enveloped in divine flames that neither seared nor consumed. Instead, these flames purged the warrior of weakness, imbuing them with the essence of the phoenix—its fiery might, its ability to rise from its ashes, and its eternal spirit of rebirth. Thus was born Ignissoul, the first Phoenix Knight, a beacon of hope and renewal, wielding fire not as a weapon of destruction, but as a symbol of perpetual resurgence.

Phoenix Knights are the avatars of this pact, each bearing the sacred fire within their souls. They are drawn to the brink, not to falter, but to flourish anew. In their veins runs the molten courage of the phoenix, and in their hearts burns the unquenchable flame of life. Theirs is a path marked by trials of fire and ashes, yet also by the unyielding promise of dawn after the darkest night.

Through the ages, the legacy of Ignissoul and the order of the Phoenix Knights endure, a testament to the enduring bond between the phoenix and those rare souls chosen to wield its power. In every ember, in every spark that seeks to defy the encroaching darkness, the spirit of the Phoenix Knights blazes eternal, a reminder that from the ashes of despair, greatness can rise.

Phoenix's Legacy

Starting at 3rd Level you gain the following benefits

  - Flameborn Resilience: You gain resistance to fire damage. Additionally, whenever you finish a short or long rest, you can touch a weapon and imbue it with fiery energy. The weapon deals an extra 1d4 fire damage on a hit. This effect lasts until you finish a short or long rest.

  - Rebirth from Ashes: Once per long rest, when you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can choose to drop to 1 hit point instead. Flames erupt from you, dealing fire damage equal to your fighter level to all enemies within 10 feet of you.

Fiery Mantle

Starting at 7th level, you can use a bonus action to surround yourself in a mantle of fire for 1 minute. During this time, any creature that hits you with a melee attack takes fire damage equal to your proficiency bonus. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Phoenix's Vigor

Starting at 10th level you gain the follow benefits

- Embrace the Flame: Whenever you start your turn standing in fire or are hit by a fire damage source, you heal for a number of hit points equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1). This healing only occurs once per turn.

-*Fire-Forged Heart: If you roll a natural 20 on a saving throw against a spell or effect that deals fire damage, you do not take any damage. Instead, you gain temporary hit points equal to one-quarter of the spell's full damage (before any saves or resistances are applied), rounding down.

Wing of the Phoenix

You can use these wings to fly for up to 10 minutes, all at once or in several shorter flights, each one using a minimum of 1 minute from the duration. After you've used a total of 10 minutes of flight, you can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Heart of Pure Flame

Starting at 18th level,

Once per long rest, you can unleash the full wrath of the phoenix. As an action, you create a massive inferno in a 30-foot radius centered on yourself. You are immune to the fire damage caused by this feature. After using this feature, you gain one level of exhaustion.
