Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Most Barbarians are known for their strength on the battlefield, bulging muscles covered in blood, fueling the crIES OF THEIR ENEMIES AS THEIR VILLAGES BURN!—Ahem… But true strength is needed early in the morning, when dew still shines on the grass, and a Barbarian sleepily unlocks their bagel shop for the day. With a grumble in their stomach, they’re  reminded of the strength needed to not bake and eat every bagel on the rack.

Tricks of the Trade

A couple of tools from the back kitchens of the bagel shop have become your tools of choice. You are now able to use them in much more complex ways than their main functions.  These will replace the two weapon items you'd receive in character creation. Use these two items, until you reach level 3, then swap them out or find a good story integration with your DM. Requires 1 bonus action to swap weapons.

Weapons

Name Damage Properties
Bagel Peel 1d12 Slashing Heavy, two-handed
Kettle Skimmer 1d12 bludgeoning Silvered, reach

Peel Parry. Must be wielding the Bagel Peel. When you’re damaged by an enemy in a melee attack, roll a Dexterity save (DC 10 + half the damage) to reduce the damage by 1d{2 x  proficiency bonus} (e.g. +2 proficiency bonus would be rolling with 1d4, +3 prof would be 1d6, etc.)

Soggy Scoop. Must be wielding the Kettle Skimmer. If you get a critical hit on a melee attack, the enemy's speed is reduced to zero for thier next turn.

Shmear Add

Everyone loves a good filling! You dig deep into your bagel-making  soul for some added flavor to your attacks. You can choose one of  the following shmears (plain, lox, or chive and onion) and gain their benefits. You can use this ability a number of times equal to half your barbarian level, rounded down, per long rest.

Plain. You exude a radiant aura of deliciousness; you are the origin point for the effects of the Bless spell (up to 3 people within the range at a time). This aura follows you when you move and can last up to 1 minute. When you take damage, you MUST make a concentration check to make sure the aura is able to stay up.

Lox. You’re looking to catch some enemies on your line, you can cast Ensnaring Strike without expending any spell slots.

Chive & Onion. Someone needs a breath mint. When you choose this, the effects applied are like Stinking Cloud. You emit a stinky odor in a 10 ft radius, if anyone begins their turn within that radius, they must make a constitution saving throw (DC to beat is 8 + barbarian level) or suffer from the “poisoned” condition until they leave the radius. Also like in Stinking Cloud, a moderate wind (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses the cloud after 4 rounds. A strong wind (at least 20 miles per hour) disperses it after 1 round.

Bagel Maker's AC

When wearing an apron, you gain +2 naturally to your AC from people moving out of the way in the lobby of your shop as you push through with determination. Also, if an ally is hit from an attack by an enemy within melee range to you, you can use your reaction to push the ally or enemy (your choice) up to 10 ft away from you to keep the peace on your bagel ordering line. If the person who is being shoved is grappled or is grappling someone else, the other person moves with them too.

Brunch Rush!

The line is out the door! Dig deep, we need to fulfill some orders quickly. You are now able to Action Surge! Take another action on your turn.
