Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

The undead are unnatural abominations created by those of evil intent to cheat death and the natural order. Bane of Undeath rangers exist to restore balance and put an end to the undead and those that create them.

These creators - necromancers, vampires, liches - are a scourge and must be dealt with swiftly and with finality. Only gods live forever and a lich or vampire is no god; they are pretenders. They reanimate those who have given their lives in glorious battle making them a mockery of their former existence. No one deserves that fate.

Wherever they are found, the Bane of Undeath rangers, you, will destroy them. You are given the tools you need when you take up the cause. The fight is a worthy one but few are a match for the task. Are you?

Sacred Flame

You can cast the Sacred Flame cantrip at will.

Turn Undead

Once per long or short rest you can call on the force of Nature to turn the undead as a cleric can by using their Channel Divinity ability. PHB p. 59

Starting when you accept the role of a Bane of Undeath ranger, you gain the ability to track the undead with unerring precision.

You can sense the general direction of any undead when you are within a mile of their position. When you're within a quarter mile of their position, you can determine a more exact location and the number and type of undead present. When you're within 120 ft of them, you can tell the powers, strength, and weaknesses of the undead in question.

Power of Light

Starting at 3rd level when you accept the duties of a Bane of Undeath ranger, your weapons inflict an additional 1d8 of radiant damage on any undead you strike. This becomes 2d8 at level 7, 3d8 at level 11, and 4d8 at level 15.
