Base Class: Ranger

These individuals, known as Ethereal Archers, are mystics who have delved into the mysteries of the ethereal plane, seeking to unlock its secrets and harness its otherworldly energies.
Legend speaks of ancient rituals and sacred rites passed down through generations, enabling these rangers to commune with the spirits that inhabit the ethereal realm. Through intense meditation and communion with nature, they attune themselves to the subtle vibrations of the ethereal plane, forging a profound bond that transcends the boundaries of the material world.
The Ethereal Archers draw upon the essence of the ethereal realm to imbue their arrows with ghostly energy, granting their attacks an ethereal quality that bypasses mundane defenses. With each arrow loosed from their bow, they blur the lines between the material and ethereal planes, striking their foes with ghostly precision that defies comprehension.
As guardians of the wild places where the veil between worlds is thinnest, Ethereal Archers embody the symbiotic relationship between the natural world and the ethereal realm. They stand as silent sentinels, vigilant protectors of the balance between the two realms, wielding their ethereal arrows as instruments of both defense and retribution against those who threaten the sanctity of nature.
Ethereal Bond
Upon reaching 3rd level, you create a profound connection with the veil between the ethereal plane and the plane you call home. This bond grants you the following benefits:
1. You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill if you don't already have it.
2. You learn to strengthen your arrows with the magic that the ethereal plane possesses, as described in the 3rd level ability "Arcane Shot."
3. As an action, you may peer into the ethereal plane for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. You can see into this realm out to a distance of 60 feet.
Arcane Shot
Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to imbue your arrows with the ethereal plane's energy. When you hit with a ranged weapon attack that uses arrows, you may expend 1 charge of this ability to deal an additional 1d6 force damage to the target. The damage of this ability increases as you gain levels in this class: 2d6 at 5th level, 3d6 at 11th level, and finally 4d6 at 17th level.
You have a number of charges equal to your proficiency bonus plus your Wisdom modifier, and you regain all expended charges when you finish a long rest.
Ethereal Accuracy
Ethereal Prescence
At 11th level, you become a beacon of ethereal power on the battlefield, instilling fear and uncertainty in your enemies. As an action, you can emit an aura of ghostly energy in a 30-foot radius centered on yourself. Creatures of your choice within the aura must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
