Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Path of Tism is a unique subclass for barbarians, designed to reflect characters who possess autism spectrum traits. Barbarians who follow this path harness their focused attention, intense passions, and unique perspectives to channel their inner strength. Rather than relying solely on brute force, they tap into their heightened sensory awareness and keen observation skills to anticipate and react to their surroundings with unparalleled precision.

Members of the Path of Tism often exhibit intense fixations, whether it be on specific skills, objects, or concepts, which they incorporate into their combat style. Their abilities allow them to hyper-focus on their chosen targets, granting them exceptional accuracy and damage output. Additionally, their heightened sensitivity to stimuli grants them a unique advantage in battle, enabling them to detect threats and opportunities that others might overlook.

While barbarians of the Path of Tism may struggle with certain social norms or communication, they find solace and empowerment in the heat of battle, where their singular focus and unwavering determination make them formidable adversaries. With their keen perception and unyielding resolve, they carve a unique path through the chaos of combat, embracing their differences as strengths rather than weaknesses.

I KNOW its here

Barbarians of the Path of Tism are incredibly perceptive, often noticing details that others might overlook. They gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks, allowing them to detect hidden threats or uncover hidden objects more easily. Their acute senses make them particularly adept at tracking and sensing danger.

Meltdown

Rather than succumbing to uncontrolled fury, barbarians of this path channel their rage with a remarkable focus. While raging, they gain advantage on saving throws against effects that would normally break their concentration. This enables them to maintain their focus on specific tasks or combat maneuvers even amidst chaos.

However this can also present the problem that when trying to exit their rage, they are at a disadvantage when trying to calm down, failure to pass the required Save means they stay raging. This can be bypassed by someone putting a weighted blanket on them, or something with enough weight to comfortably squish them.

Its my Routine

Members of the Path of Tism thrive on routine and structure. They can designate specific rituals or routines that grant them bonuses in combat or skill checks. By adhering to their chosen routines, they gain temporary boosts to their abilities or advantage on certain rolls. These routines might include precise combat sequences, meticulous weapon maintenance, or calming rituals to center their focus.

Hyperfocus

Barbarians following the Path of Tism excel in their chosen areas of interest. They can select a proficiency in a skill or tool, becoming exceptionally proficient in its use. Additionally, they gain a bonus to damage rolls when wielding weapons they are proficient in, reflecting their dedication to mastering specific combat techniques or weapon styles.

NOT LISTENING TO YOU LALALALALA

As they progress along their path, barbarians of this subclass develop an indomitable will fueled by their unique perspective. They gain advantage on saving throws against fear effects and mental manipulation, reflecting their resilience in the face of adversity as well as resistance to Psychic Damage that could be dealt to them.

Sensory Overload

When taking this class, the heightened sensory perception of the Path of Tism Barbarian can sometimes become overwhelming, especially in loud or crowded environments. When exposed to extreme sensory stimuli (such as loud noises, bright lights, or crowded spaces), the barbarian must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become overwhelmed, suffering disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls until the end of their next turn.

Social Ick!

At 6th level, the barbarian's social interactions may be affected by their neurodiversity. They find it challenging to navigate social cues and may struggle in diplomatic situations or when attempting to deceive or persuade others. The barbarian suffers disadvantage on Charisma-based ability checks when interacting with unfamiliar individuals or in unfamiliar social contexts.

Break the Routine

At 10th level, the Path of Tism Barbarian's dedication to routine can sometimes lead to inflexibility and difficulty adapting to unexpected changes. When faced with a sudden deviation from their established routines or plans, the barbarian must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become flustered, suffering disadvantage on all ability checks and saving throws until someone is able to calm them down and explain in terms that allows them to pass their Wisdom Save.

Combat Hyperfocus

At 14th level, the barbarian's intense focus can occasionally lead to tunnel vision, causing them to become fixated on a single task or objective to the exclusion of all else. When engaged in combat, the barbarian must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw at the start of their turn or become hyperfocused, unable to take reactions until the end of their next turn as they concentrate solely on their current target or goal.
