Base Class: Wizard
Your thirst for knowledge goes beyond what traditional arcane college holds. You could not and would not settle for learning the same handful of spells in this modern world of cookie cutter wizards. Every wizard in the modern age can twist up a bead of fire or bend light to fool the eye and settle with knowing how to cast the common mans splls. Not you, no you dont just want to know how but why and what else magic can do. I see magic that is beyond the traditions of the arcane colleges and demand to bring that power under you hands. It will take time, training and research, but soon no form of magic will slip your grasp.
Outside the tradition.
2nd-level Arcane Spellcraft feature
When you select this tradition at 2nd level, you take your first step beyond the stagnate traditions of the learned wizard. You can select one spell that does not appear on the wizard spell list and add it to your spellbook, this spell must be of a level you can cast and equal to or less than your proficiency bonus. It counts as a wizard spell for you.
Every other level you may replace one of the two spells you would learn with another spell in this manner.
Greater scholar of the arcane
2nd-level Arcane Spellcrafter feature
Not happy with just understanding the basic principles behind the arcane and how the alter the common laws of reality, you have delved deep into its souce code to seek answers and understanding. Now you begin to see the true intricacies of the weave and its flow through the plane.
You gain proficiency in Arcana, if you are already proficient then you gain expertise in the skill.
When you prepare your spells for the day, you may tweak the magical formula. You can temporarily replace its damage type with a type that appears in another spell in your spellbook. This spell is changed until you next prepare spells.
When you cast a spell using a spell slot that requires a verbal, somatic, or material componet, you may attempt to ignore that requirement. To do so you must succeed an arcana check DC:(10+spell level) + 3 for each component ignored beyond the first. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus + int modifier. Additionally, if the material component has a gold cost, the DC increase by 1 for each 100 gold, min 1. If you fail by less then five, you do not use the spell slot but the action is still used. However if you fail by five or greater, the slot is expended; if you fail by ten or greater you take psychic damage equal to the spells level +proficiency bonus

Weave Savant
6th-level Arcana Spellcrafter feature
Your understanding of magic at its most basic levels and are starting to see how to use that to your own ends.
When you see a spell being cast within 120 feet, you may use your reaction to attempt to understand the spell. Make an opposed Arcana check against the casters DC, on fail nothing happens and you use your reaction. On a success, you memorized the spell and if it is a spell of a level you can cast you may use the spell as if it was a wizard spell. This spell fades from your memory at the end of a long rest or if you attempt to copy another spell. You may uses this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency.
Additionally, your deep understand of magic has let you learn how to decipher tomes and scrolls of magical means. You may copy non-wizard spell scrolls into your spellbook as if they were wizard spells.
Improved Formula
10th-level Arcane Spellcrafter feature
Building on your understanding, you now look back to the spells you learned and see how flawed they were. Now you see a hundred ways to simplify and change them, improve them.
When casting a spell with a save using a spell slot you may attempt to change the nature of the required save. Make an Arcana check DC 12+ spell level, on a fail nothing happens and the action is lost but not the slot. On a success, you may switch the save required for another of the same type, physical (STR/DEX/CON) or mental (INT/WIS/CHA). This change is reflected in the spell, such as an exploding fireball (dex save) becoming a explosion of burning liquid (con save). You may attempt this a number of time equal to your proficiency bonus.
When you cast a spell with an attack roll and roll a natural 20, you regain the spellslot used. This feature can only be used once per long rest.
Supreme understanding of unifying spell therory.
14th-level Arcane spellcrafter feature.
While there is always more to learn, you have push to the pinnacle of arcane theory and beyond. Your studies will shake the foundation of modern magic as it is understood.
When you attempt to use your Weave Savant feature to copy a spell being cast, you automatically succeed if the spell caster level is lower then yours.
Additionally copying spells into your spellbook require only 15 minutes and 10 GP Per level.
When you cast spells you have altered with the "outside the tradition" feature, the DC or Attack for that spell is increased by 2.
